Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! Up at 0430 CT. Finishing up my coffee and it’s back to the grind. I’ve got a 3 door cooler that somebody fixed 2 weeks ago and it’s down again. I’ll wash my van on the way out to work. I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning GTA! Yep it's Monday! Up at 0500 CDT. We made it home yesterday afternoon from our five day visit with our oldest daughter and her family.  During our visit we spent two nights at her husband's sister's lake house near Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake. We really enjoyed it but it's great to be home.  I have to cut our yard today.

Good morning GTA! I woke up at 0430, fell back asleep and then up at 0530 CT. I actually got a job right here in my home town. That’s only happened once, maybe twice ever, years ago at the old Dollar General. Today I’m working on a cooler/freezer at the new(ish) Dollar General. Never been to this one for service, so I’ll have to do a complete site audit for all equipment with model/serial numbers. Could be a good day here.

Good morning GTA! John I kinda did the same thing, I woke up at 0355 CDT, but I fell back asleep and then got up at 0530 CDT.

I cut my yard yesterday, my son had cut almost 1 acre of mine while I was in Memphis so yesterday I only had to cut the remaining ~ 4.5 acres. This morning I've been enjoying my Diana 34. Shooting spinners and paper out to 50 yds.

Relax and enjoy the Sequoia's and other scenery and the fresh brisk air. I really wish I had not injured my left leg so I could hike more like I usually do when we're here. Our room in the lodge is nice, but being out and about in nature here is what I enjoy most. I think it got down to 25 last night, it's 46 right now though. The deer were seen from the dining hall last night.

We are 18 miles away from the BIG trees.

The Park and most Roads are currently closed because of KNP complex wildfire but the "private camp" were we are is open and the fire has currently 695 personnel including: 11 crews, 19 engines, 18 water tenders, 9 dozers and 14 helicopters fighting it and is about 25 miles away.

Firefighters spend the night here too because it is a huge camp with cabins and lodges.

Good evening y’all.  I cain’t never seem to get on here to post in the morning.  Well I just finished another six day week and I’m beat.  Tomorrow the memsahib and I are gonna head over to the redneck riviera.  The Bay county animal shelter is having a free adoption event and we have been thinking about getting another rescue for a while now.  We prefer rescue critters, have a herd of them, and we feel it is time to get another dog.  We are also cheap so this looks like our kind of deal!

My son and youngest daughter both have pets from the shelter.  There are so many good pets in need of a forever home. And they come with all their shots as a bonus.  I prefer mixed breeds anyway and you can always find a good selection of those at the shelter.

Good morning GTA! It's only 60° this morning so a short lived cool snap. Rain is returning today after lunch. 

Yesterday I shot my new Diana 34 and it's coming along exceptionally well.  Pretty decent 1.5" ten-shot group at 50 yards. That's pretty impressive to me.

Afterwards I brought out my R9 - .177 and wow! It is so much easier to cock and so much more comfortable to shoot than the 34. I didn't shoot a group on paper with the R9 at 50 yards but it sure was easy shooting the 1.5" spinners at that distance.  Same scope just the R9 is so much easier to hold steady.  The stock on the R9 just fits me so much better.

This morning I'm planning on changing the pivot screw on my Hatsan Mod 95 - .22 and see if I can tighten up the groups on it.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0415 CT. Had coffee and my meeting with the guys this morning. I’m at work now, looking at another freezer. It seems I do more refrigeration calls than AC anymore. Not my favorite thing to do, by a long stretch. But that’s what’s up for today. It is Hump-Day, so there’s that.

Two days off, today and tomorrow then a long on call session. I have tires to do today and I will pull out the snow blower, do an oil change and gas it up. Then I need to prep the wood boiler for startup is November 1st!

Winter is a-comin and I got to get ready!

Another freeze this morning with another 3 in a row coming Friday-Sunday. Here comes 6 months of cold!

Mornin y’all.  I got up early and took the pups for a long amble through my permission.  It’s finally dry enough to get through dry shod but there is still plenty of water every where. It’s mostly Titi swamp with a few hammocks of pine and live oak.  We saw no game but the dogs had a good time.  Flash had a ball, tearing through the puddles, crashing through the bushes, barking mindlessly at birds.  Flytrap took it easy, just tagging along at my heels.  She is thirteen now and acting older every day.  That’s why we decided to start looking for another dog.  Flash needs an active companion and Flytrap needs to enjoy her sunset years in peace.

Good morning GTA! It’s the day before Friday! Slept in until 0600 CT. I have a 3 1/2 hour ride to my job today, but I have to pickup filters first. I have to call the office at 0800 to do that. Oh well, should be a nice day for driving, I guess.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0530 CDT. It rained last yesterday afternoon and this morning we had heavy fog. Visibility here was less than 1/4 mile and some places zero visibility.  My patio is still dripping wet due to the high humidity.  The fog is just now beginning to lift (0800 CDT). Plans are on hold at the moment.

31x10.5-15 tires went on easily and were a dream to inflate, holding air 24 hours later with no problems but the 245x65-17 tires were made with the tire beads pretty close together so they dont touch the wheel bead. I may have to bring these in to the garage to have them inflate the tires, I really dont want to do that though...

Had some skid loader work done yesterday, what we thought were mounds of dirt turned out to be discarded concrete slabs, 4'x4'x8" , made for an awful lot of rutting to get them out. He comes back with the skiddy to clean up and get paid today.

Mornin y’all. More of the same today.  Did some squirrel hunting this a.m.  I’ll report on that in the hunting gate.
Gonna work in the garden some today.  I’ve got the last of the winter garden to plant.  Lettuce, cabbage, and squash today.  These are seedlings that we started back in September inside.  They’ve been outside in pots “hardening” for the last week.

Sometimes I put a ratchet strap around tires when I have that problem. I can usually squeeze them enough to seal, or you can try the ether trick if you are inclined to.

I use the ratchet on smaller tires I but have had to resort to the "ether" method on tractor tires.

I have found it a good idea to explain to onlookers what you're about to do when using ether. I does have a rather loud bang.

Thanks gents, I tried both tricks yesterday to no avail. Being low profile tires, they would not spread like the 31x10.5 tires would and the gap is too big for the either trick and momma was none-to-happy that I tried it since I survived a catastrophic burn a decade ago and she is a little "concerned" about fire nowadays. 

I'm trying the small bike tire tube in the gap this morning, if that doesn't work, to the shop I go!!
