Good morning GTA! Up at 0700 CT. Yesterday whooped my butt. I got all the mowing & trimming & blowing done. I picked up several carts of sticks & branches along the way. Today, I’m back on call, but no calls yet. I’m having my coffee and I’m going to take it as easy as it comes today, unless I get called out to work. If I don’t get any calls, I’d sure like to pull out the FWB Sport and shoot some steel at 30 meters, it sure seems dialed in with the Rangemaster Sovereign’s.

Got the Ego batteries charging.  Yesterday, we picked up the Ego blower/line trimmer combination to accompany the 18" chainsaw and hedgetrimmer.  I'm "retiring" my main 2-stroke Stihl trimmer, both chainsaws, and the backpack blower to commercial use for the business.  The Ego blower is a beast, and it drains the batteries quickly, but I knocked out the leaf removal in half the time the Stihl backpack takes. I haven't used the line trimmer and I know it can't replace commercial equipment like the FS110 (another Stihl) but that's where the brush-blade lives.  We're thinking about investing in a either a Shindaiwa or RedMax trimmer anyway as we grow the side-hustle.   I ordered a few parts to rebuild the power head on my other Stihl (FS76), but it can't handle commercial use.  I have an even older Homelite that runs circles around the FS76 and is nowhere near as finicky.

Other plans: planing down some driftwood we've acquired, shortening the chains for my sporran, and quite possibly getting the Troy-Bilt riding mower up high enough to fix all the jack-leg "repairs" Sonja's ex performed on it.  I could write a lengthy list, but let's leave it at "utterly stupid ignoramous hillbilly attempts trying to fix things". 

I thought chasing down the shorts on the Yamaha golf cart, but I'm not looking for that much punishment.

Feed the zoo, donate platelets this morning, get tires on truck(second attempt), retrieve all the van parts from the post office(did warn the PM of the incoming barrage of packages). Hopefully I can get all this done and get the boat loaded up and be on the water in the morning.

Yesterday I was assigned to “mentor” a new employee. The boss told me to get him dirty and make him sweat some.  So we built 50 feet of wooden fence, shoveled a big pile of wood chips into the playground area, and ended the day repositioning some 20 picnic tables.  He’s eighteen years old and probably feels great today.  My lumbago is acting up so I’m taking the day off!

Good morning GTA! Up at 0545 CT. Had some pretty good storms roll trough here last night, tornado warnings and all. No damage as far as I can see. I’m rolling a little bit late this morning, I got an infection in my left ear lobe and I need my wife to look at it again before I go to work. I didn’t want to wake her up too early. Today I have a HVAC PM to do, so not a big deal. Not sure how busy we’ll be this week with the weather, we may slow down a little and I could use the break, actually. My wife will setup a doctor appointment for them to checkout my ear and go from there. Always something.

I’m rolling a little bit late this morning, I got an infection in my left ear lobe and I need my wife to look at it again before I go to work. I didn’t want to wake her up too early. Today I have a HVAC PM to do, so not a big deal. Not sure how busy we’ll be this week with the weather, we may slow down a little and I could use the break, actually. My wife will setup a doctor appointment for them to checkout my ear and go from there. Always something.

I awoke at 4:15 this morning, got up at 4:30 when I gave in to back pain that would not allow sleeping or laying down any more. My pain level is higher than "normal for me" because I trimmed dead limbs off of 10 trees Friday. I have about 20 more to go. I will get them done because I am am stubborn and not a quitter. I have plans to repair the bubblers so they can be watered a little today, I have a 19 year old grandson here that will do the digging and bending while I supervise mostly. We will probably have to make a parts run, even though I keep a stock of PVC fittings on hand it seems like I always am missing a needed piece when making more than one repair. I think 5 of 30 are broken off. I am always careful around the risers, but I know I broke one with the lawn tractor, the others were broken by kids or dogs?

Depending on how bad the infection is you may have to let it heal closed and try piercing it again later.

Next time you may want to pierce it with something other than a 2lb. hammer and rusty railroad spike. Everyone knows that method is meant for noses and not ears.

Good morning GTA! Got up at 0545 CDT. Yesterday I mounted a Hawke Airmax 4-12x40AO scope on my Diana 35 TO6 Classic that I bought from Numrich GPC.
Other than sighting in the scope I didn't shoot it a lot yesterday

I plan on getting out now and shooting it.
Bore is bright and super clean, but I pulled a couple of dry patches through anyway.

Good morning y'all I back from a weekend visit to Mesa AZ and the EBR at the Rio Salado Sportsmans range where the EBR is held met many of the well known builders and shooters in all a very productive and enjoyable weekend. I signed the lease for my RV slip and better yet Gertrude is my backyard neighbor. The jury is still out on whether this is a good or bad thing since we share many common interests as shooting, hunting, fishing, and the occasional sip of adult beverage and a good cigar to sit around with like-minded friends and tell stories with. I arrived Thursday evening 10/7 after getting up at 3:50 to shower and do a 9 hour shift then home to finish packing and a train to catch to NY JFK Airport. Upon arrival in Phonix my chauffer  was waiting at the arrival area with the limo (Chevy Suburban) for the 25 minute drive to Mesa and his 38 ft castle. After the $0.05 cent tour we retired to Ron's patio for a few adult beverages and snacks then proceeded to get well relaxed so after calling it bed time 25 hours after my day started in NY I crashed on the pull out couch and took a much needed 5 hour nap.

When I woke sleeping beauty was still dead to the world under a pile of blankets. So me being the kind-hearted soul that I am proceeded to fumble around in the kitchen looking for the makings for a pot of much needed coffee. Did I mention thae Ron said Mi Casa, Su Casa he truly meant it

Once I began to feel semi human 3 cups of coffee later I walked over to the RV Park office and sat with Ron's neice Danielle to sign the lease agreement for my trailer slip.

You guys crack me up. I had my ear pierced over 30 years ago. I haven’t had anything in it since the Army. This is just something else and it’s pretty gross. I’m hoping to get it taken care of pretty soon, work is really not helping today. I’m working on a mismatched walk in freezer that someone butchered up the wiring on pretty bad. I was supposed to be changing air filters, easy-peazy, alas- it was not meant to be.

I hated on-call weekends at the one HVAC company that I worked at in the beginning of my HVAC career. The customers called him Dan the recall man with good cause.  He was a hammer mechanic and didn't know how to make a decent flare connection so at the end of the day he was covered in blue leak lock.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0530 CT. Today I have a compressor to replace in a freezer that someone else wrote up for. Shouldn’t be too much trouble, but previously I couldn’t do the job because the power was inadequate. Probably why they lost the compressor. It’s supposed to be right now, we shall see.

Mornin y’all.  It’s my day off!  Gonna lay around the shack today and watch the weeds grow.  About time to fire up the still and make another batch of potables.
Anyhoo. . .  Gonna shoot some airguns today for sure!
