Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! Up at 0400 CT. Having my second cup of coffee and I’ll get ready for work. Today I’m following up on a freezer that another tech didn’t fully diagnose, all he did was shut it down because of the ice buildup. If the defrost is not working, I have to bring it back to temperature to diagnose that. Oh well, should be an easy way to start the week. If the freeze cycle looks good, it’s like watching grass grow, or paint dry. It’s 70* this morning and according to our 10-14 day forecast, this looks like it could be our last 90* day of 2021. We could use some more rain and there’s a possibility for that this week as well.

Good morning GTA!  Up at 0500 CDT. It's going to be much warmer this week. It's 58° now and according to the forecast the low will be in the mid 60s with highs near 90° for the next 10 days. The cooler temps and lower humidity were nice but I guess that will end today. 

I need to replace the roof on the grandkids fort (my sniper hide) since the high winds from the recent storms ripped off the old one. I may try to track down some material for that.

I plan on shooting a little before noon though.

Over to the VA today to start the disability paperwork for the back injury I have lived with since 1968. I was on a work party and my partner lost his grip and I ended up with a badly sprained lower back and 2 bad discs. At the time of discharge, the doc on board told me to file with the 1968 VA. It was an insulting joke and I was to proud to fight with the old VA system. So now I started the process back in January and brought all my records up to date. The Primary doc at the VA is very sympathetic and has assured me that since it is all documented easy to submit and get approved.

I'm in recovery from a weekend working at our property.  Finished the steps, hung insulation, mowed, cleared more brush, slept in an unheated 45* shed 2 nights in a row, drank way too much home-made blackberry brandy, then spent most of yesterday helping a neighbor up there dig out a 10x20 rectangle of dirt shale for his outdoor kitchen.  Only a 6" pour, but we had to keystone the edges 8" out and 6" deeper than the rest.

We found even the San Angelo bars weren't beastly enough for the digging.  I have an old wood-cutters adze that was repurposed after I re-ground for cutting the shale, and it worked like a champ, but my shoulders and back are paying for it.

Oooh, today is my first day officially on the company's data team.  I'm splitting time between my new role and my old support/consulting role, so I'm savoring a chance to learn some new stuff.

Morning... the weekend's work at Killer's must have taken it's toll.. in a rare occasion, I slept until 6:15 this morning. My bladder finally woke me up.... 
Back to work for another week of mass confusion around the plant. The automotive production industry is no joke. It what some call a 'just in time' process meaning, what we produce is out the door and on the assembly line some 45 miles away within 8 hours. We stamp and assembly major automotive structural components for 4 models of Hyundai.
These being:
Firewall/dash and cowl.
Center floor and rear floor
All 4 quarter lowers and uppers
Parcel shelf
Side inner and outers
T/lids and T/gates
We produce 1500 - 1600 vehicles per day.
Needless to say, there is potential for issues everywhere you look.
To top it all off, there are language barriers. Mainly English, Korean and Hispanic.
Then we have the OEM stuff we stamp... German and Japanese.\
Never a dull moment around here.

Mornin y’all.  Up at 0430 this a.m.  Walked the dogs and loaded a trailer for a dump run.  Now I’m getting ready to head back to a blind on my permission to just sit and contemplate.

Saturday night I got to sleep at a little after 10PM I woke every half hour or 45 minutes until 2:10AM, then I was wide wake. I got up and studied and then Ch**ch. in the afternoon I had heartburn and couldn't lay down after Ch**ch last night I went to bed at about 10PM and I was wide awake and in too much pain to stay in bed at 4:10AM so I got up. I played a bunch of Mahjong until a few minutes ago. My best time on the 2nd to hardest was 2:30. Now mahjong has become boring.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0330 CT. I had to dig out some temperature sensors for a job that I knew I had, but hadn’t needed for a very long time. Found them, finishing my coffee and about to hit the road. I’ve got a 2 hour drive to my first job to replace a pump. Then a 2.5 hour drive to my next job that needs those temperature sensors. This might actually turn out to be a pretty good day.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CDT. We have our hot weather back at least for a while. It climbed to the high 80s yesterday.  I scraped my driveway yesterday filling in some ruts. We're suppose to get some rain for the next couple of days.

 We've been cleaning out our attic for the last month or so. Yesterday I started bringing down my junk. I burned a trailer load of junk paper and old small appliances boxes. Over in one corner are my air rifle boxes. I think my wife know how many I actually have now. LOL

Good morning GTA! It’s Hump Day! Up at 0309 CT. I don’t know why I’m getting up earlier than usual. Having coffee right now. I’ll meet with the guys from Ch**ch at 0600. Then I’ve got a heater element to replace on a drive-thru window air curtain. Not sure what happens after that. Hoping for another good day though.

Good morning GTA!  Up at 0545 CDT. I don’t know why I’m getting up later than usual. I was extra tired last night and didn't get to bed till close to midnight. And I had taken a Benadryl so that may be the reason. 

My wife has been on a mission to go through the boxes in the attic. I had often joked to the kids that I bet there were a hundred 18 gal plastic totes in the attic.  I didn't realize I was so close. We've already brought down over 80 of those 18 gal totes and I'm thinking there are at least 20 more up there.

Thanks David! Apparently it’s Air Curtains all day. And they won’t shut their drive-thru for me to work on them. I put that heater element in, but now the fan is running slow. Real slow, unfortunately I need to access the fan from outside, but the drive-thru was slammed. Had to leave it down til Monday, we have an appointment to shut down the drive-thru. I just pulled up for another air curtain and the drive-thru is slammed. 
Pretty sure my next job is another air curtain.

Good morning GTA!  Up at 0415 CDT. I had a weird thing happen yesterday.  I couldn't get GTA site to load on my phone.  I went to other sites with no problem loading and navigating their sites. I went to Numrich Gun Parts Corporation,  Airguns of Arizona,  pyramydair.com, Field Supply, Wing Supply, even my utility company whose site is always difficult to load but I didn't have any problem.  Strange...then just before I went to sleep 10:30 pm I checked and GTA loaded as normal.   Anyway I'm glad I can get back in this morning as I kind went through withdrawal when I couldn't.  Apparently GTA is highly addictive.

FedEx dropped the ball yesterday,  they were supposed to deliver my Sportsmatch mounts from PA yesterday but tracking now shows their 2-day delivery will take 4 days. Scheduled delivery will be Friday now. My Diana 34 from Numrich is on a FedEx truck also and scheduled to be delivered Saturday.  I hope it doesn't get lost as well.

I need to change the oil in my car today and then get back to going through boxes of junk I once thought I couldn't live without.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CT. Had 2 cups of coffee, got Ayrabella on the bus and now I’m sitting at the doctor’s waiting. I have my 90 cholesterol follow up and labs this morning. My dispatcher just emailed me and said I can take the day off if I want. I’m dressed for work and ready to roll, but it’s a crumby job other techs left a mess and it’s in another state… I just might take her up on her offer.

Well, I called the office and my dispatcher said I still could use the day off if I wanted. So I visited my wife at her work, got a haircut on the way home and just let the dogs out. I’ll work tomorrow, helping one of the new guys put in a compressor & some other stuff in Oklahoma somewhere. I’m thinking I should clean out my van from a couple weeks of chaos. Then I might shoot some airguns.
