Good morning GTA! Up at 0502 CDT. Today I'll be moving the patio plants into the garage,  securing all the patio furniture,  moving all my spinner racks to a central location and securing them, and prepping the two generators for the expected power outages.

Hurricane Ida has her sights on us. Tomorrow night is when we will hunker down for 36 hours of high winds and rain with a possibility of tornadoes.  We are taking this storm very seriously.

Wow...I'm sure glad I don't have to deal with Hurricanes up here in Minnesota.

Foe us today it is thunderstorms, rain and threats of tornadoes at around 5 pm.

The forest fires continue to burn in the northern part of the state and in Canada.

The last few days it has been real hazy with smoke filled air, due to the fires.

I am feeling generally better this morning, still have additional body aches from this bug but less head/sinus pressure and very light bronchial congestion now. My immune system and home treatment is working, it's day 9 or 10 and I think I will be back to normal in a few more days. The road with this bug seems very familiar, but like I am in a vehicle more suited for it this time.

 It is suppose to get to 107 today but 12% humidity so the evaporative cooler will work great today. My energy level is low but I will take it easy today. Tuesday though Friday highs are suppose to be 93 or less so I'll do some outdoor activities then if fully recovered, which I think I should be.

Thanks guys we'll probably only get 50-70 mph winds where we're located, and 3-9" of rain. We will be in the northeast quadrant of the storm as it passes through which as you know is the worst.

Storm surge and high damaging winds is a major concern for those along the coastal regions of Mississippi and Louisiana as Ida is expected to make landfall as a CAT 4.

New Orleans will also in the northeast quadrant where they are expecting close to 15" of rain possible.

Ida’s Cat 2 now. Looks like landfall at about 0700 a Cat 3. Unless she decides to be a Cat 4. I’m going to keep watching, and praying. If she don’t mind slowing & changing course, I’ll be glad to have some of that rain. Please.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0530 CT. I saw that on the tracker. I will keep my eye on it and continue to pray.
I’m having coffee with the dogs. I’m going to wake the house about 0800. Ch**ch at 1000 hrs. I’m hoping to shoot some airguns afterwards. But I will keep watch of the hurricane tracker and pray everyone in her path remains safe.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0230 CDT.  We're experiencing some bouts of heavy rain and wind. It's 0400 CDT now and it seems the winds are, I'm guessing, currenly about 35 mph with intermittent 50-60 mph gusts.

We haven't experienced any power disruptions yet but I don't know how long we'll be able to keep power before a tree falls across a line.

For those of you who pray, please pray for those in Lousiana and Southern Mississippi as we/they deal with the aftermath of this tremendous storm.

I'm watching all the Hurricane Ida storm damage on the Weather Channel.
They say that the storm surge forced the Mississippi River to flow backwards.
Sustained 150 mph winds in some areas for several hours.
WOW.......

All the fires are still burning but fire fighters are starting to get a handle on one of them, the Greenwood Lake Fire.
The prediction is that none of the fires will be truly out..... until the winter snows hit.

Today I’m working up in Harrison, I’m hoping with the new guy. It’s a job I worked on and left unfinished, but he went back instead of myself and he quoted it. It should be a good day. I have to stop on the way out & pickup a pump for the job I was on Saturday. Maybe I can fix that one on my way back or tomorrow.

Talking about time standing still, this blow is in no hurry to leave. Waiting on the outer bands to get here and dump more rain, like I really need more right now. The only hazards right now is flash flooding, water standing on the roads, and water logged snags coming down in the slightest gust of wind. Dan hopefully you will just get away with soggy ground and few branches to clean up and nothing more.

I know what you mean Kris. You'll probably get a couple of inch later on to add to your soaked ground. 
I just drove around the perimeter,  only damages I could see were two large Mayhaw trees down, two small pecan limbs, a gazillion tiny pecan limbs,  and the top out of a 8" pine tree.  My drive washed pretty bad but I can deal with that. I am thankful that's all the damage we had. It's going to continue to rain off and on throughout the day.

Thank goodness we never lost power. I don't regret the time I spent prepping the generators because I had rather do that before a storm than during a srorm.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0330 CDT. We never received the 60+ mph wind and torrential rainfall amounts that we were expecting from Ida.   We got a lot of wind and rain mind you just not what we were expecting which is a tremendous blessing.

▪I'm going to have to pull the gravel that washed down my drive to the street back up the hill with my tractor and box blade.
▪I have a couple of trailer loads of small limbs to pick up before I'll be able to cut my yard.
▪I have to bring the patio furniture back to the patio that I had loaded up on my landscape trailer.
▪I have to move the patio plants out of my garage and put them back where they belong.
▪Put the four ice chests back up in the attic.
▪Put the propane hot plate back up in the attic.
▪Drain the gasoline out of the big generator and prep it for longterm storage.

Maybe I need a nap before starting that. LOL

Night before last was a busy one, got called to a shooting, death, and possible traffic homicide. So I had a total of 1.5 hr sleep
So I slept like a rock last night. I didn’t even hear my wife take a bath at 10pm
Every day brings something new, but knowns at this point
1- teach person in training suspect/victim photography including injuries
2- review reports
3-check in new sUAS
4- get with admin and pay for force science class I was approved to take
5- all the other random stuff that comes up
6- daily 2 mile run
