Good morning/afternoon GTA! Day 3 at Children’s Hospital. We’re hanging in there, Ayrabella is very weak and it’s now looking like we may be here for several more days, perhaps through this whole coming week, maybe. I went home & mowed & trimmed the backyard & let the dogs run around. I took Mahayla to lunch. I’m back at the hospital and my wife suggests I go home & stay with Mahayla & the dogs & sleep in my own bed tonight. Tomorrow we’ll switch & my wife will stay home for the night. If we do that, I’ll mow & trim what’s left as soon as the sun comes up. It was blazing hot & humid today & I was only on the mower about a half hour. Ayrabella is actually right on track for what the doctors & nurses told us to expect, it’s just a pretty rough going. She’s ornery and cranky, but still has a slight bit of a sense of humor. It’s all going to be alright, it’s just testing all of our patience is all. Thanks again for everyone’s prayers.

Will be praying for you all. Looks like your family has a good anchor. Keep eating for energy.

I'd be the same way after being in the hospital several days and I'm grown so can't say I blame her. Likely wants to be back home having fun again.

Thank you all, again, for your prayers. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. We are still in the hospital, I extended my vacation 3 more days. Ayrabella is making real progress. This evening, from her bed, she played a board game and a game of cards (War) with me. She had her moments of being able to smile & give me high 5s. She’s actually been quite funny today, but sometimes she’s pretty serious. She hasn’t been able to talk much until today (she’s got a tube from her nose that’s goes into her stomach). She just told me & her Mom, with all seriousness: “When we get home, I want pork chops”.
I can’t wait!

You bet, Gil. Thursday I got some new fluorescent green gloss spray paint I hadn’t tried yet. I told her she can paint the silhouettes so we can shoot them when she feels better.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0300 CDT. It was miserable outside yesterday,  I had a doctors appointment at 0900 and by the time I got home and changed into my play clothes the heat index had reached 111° so needless to say no shooting for me.

It's the humidity that makes it feel so oppressive and today it predicted to be at 75%, wow! I don't think I'll shoot any until the temperature and humidity are lower.

I'll probably do a few chores outside till the heat drives me inside.  I watched Outlaw Josey Wales yesterday and I'll probably watch another Clint Eastwood western today.

John it's great to hear that Ayrabella is making real progress. Know that we're still praying for her, as well as for those who love her and those who are caring for her.

Mornin y’all. It’s my day off so I m up at 9:00 a.m.  The memsahib and I are going to wallow around the house today.  It’s too hot to do much outside.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0700 CT. I took a walk on the nature trail that goes around the hospital this morning. It’s really nice outside right now. It’s been getting pretty hot here too, so I’m glad I got out & walked this morning. Ayrabella will be getting another X-ray sometime today to see how her progress looks.

Mornin y’all.  Up at 0400 today hoping to do some dilla’ busting with the Mod 125 before the sun gets up.  The armored flower bed destroyers are out. I can see some across the road when my neighbor’s motion activated security light clicks on.  Im suffering from insomnia and I saw the light come on over there.  I’m sitting on the back stairs right next to my flood light switch now.  I can light up half the yard with a flick of the switch and use the window sill for a rifle rest.   
Oh yeah, I’m using my .22 cal mod 125 with an illuminated reticle scope.  I think this is the first time in years I’ve tried to use the IR feature on a scope!

Good morning GTA! Woke up at 0300 CDT again but this time I managed to get back to sleep till 0515 CDT.  It has been miserable outside so far this week. Midday heat indices have been right at or over 110° each day.  Opening the door to go outside felt just like it feels when you open an oven door, heat blast to the face. Thankfully the weatherman is predicting an end to this current hear wave today but I'm sceptical as the temps are the same so far.

I'm about to step out on the patio for my morning couple or three cups of coffee. 

Hope you nailed that armadillo Carter. I despise those critters.

Good morning GTA! Slept in our own beds last night, I was up at 0500 CT. I’m having coffee and I’m going to get the line trimming done this morning. Hopefully I can knock that out before the girls are really up & ready to do stuff. Today I intend to just settle back in at home, unpack stuff from the hospital & clean house a bit, besides some rest. I’ll go back to work Friday. Maybe later Ayrabella & I can paint some steel targets & then shoot them tomorrow morning. 

P.S. this was at lunch yesterday before we got released to go home. I love this picture. We finally headed home about 1700 or so:

Good for you and your family John!  We could all use a little good news in our lives.
No Armadillos were harmed this morning. 
The clever devils never gave me a good shot.  There was always the neighbor’s car or RV or house as the backstop.  Finally got tired of watching them and turned the dogs out about 6:30.  Now that was fun! 60 seconds of pandemonium when Flash and Flytrap hit them dillas like Jeb Stuart’s cavalry!  The dogs sure enjoyed it!

Great news! I'm so glad she's better got to go home.

I am doing some tool and motorcycle shed maintenance today. I did some sealing places rats got in and where mice can get in yesterday, today I am replacing a couple pieces of old siding. The motorcycle shed started out as a 50's camping trailer that was in real bad shape. I got paid to remove it out of a backyard that had no access except a 3' gate, so I dismantled it but kept the frame (sliding it out on it's side). It became a flat bed trailer and then box trailer when I built a box on it a couple of years later in 1979. When I built the box trailer I had a one piece aluminum roof made for it. It moved us to Missouri in 1979 and back in 1980, then I have been using it as a shed since 1982 It has no wheels on it and is set on blocks and has a cement ramp I poured in '97 in it's current location. The tool shed was built in 1994 and the south and east "weather beaten" sides are needing a little refurbishing. In '97 I put a new door on the tool shed and built a 55" wide door on the west side, later I moved the wide door to the south side side and reframed the west wall. In '97 I ran electricity to both sheds too. Anyway both sheds need some love now, just another coat of paint just won't work this year.

I was nearly holding my breath while this played out as we nearly lost our youngest daughter a few years back due to high ammonia levels in her blood. No father/mother should have to go thru this. Blessings to Ayrabella!

Good morning GTA!!! Up at 0418, dozed back off until 0555 CT. I’d like to say again, thanks for your prayers. Ayrabella is doing great. I didn’t get to do much at all of what I wanted to yesterday, my van was finally ready to pickup. So, I cleaned out & washed my boss’ van & dropped it off for an oil change & took my van home. I pulled all the boxes of parts out that were on the floor of my van. Now my garage has even more parts & tools laying around. Other than that, we played & ate & rested.

Today I have to put stuff back on my van, hopefully in an organized manner. I’ll go back to work tomorrow and I’m working Saturday also. Beside that, Ayrabella really wants to paint targets & shoot airguns today. So, that’s the plan.
