Good Morning all. Up at 3 am back to bed with a sip to wash an Advil down then back up at 7. Taking new to me F150 down to my mechanic for a quick once over and to see if I can park the 30 ft trailer I am purchasing today on his storage yard for a reasonable $$ per month.

Are you going to have to do any repairs on the camper or is it in pretty good shape?  Did you say it has a slide out?

When our children were young,  we had a 24' travel trailer that was very comfortable.  It had a propane hot water heater,  a propane/electric refrigerator, a bathtub/shower combo, so it wasn't bad to live in for a week at a time with 2 adults and three kids. No slide out either. We did a lot of the cooking outside,  and most of the food was either chargrilled, fried, or in a slow cooker. We had a good toaster ovsn we used outside as well. Laundry was our biggest headache.  Later we bought an dorm-size refrigerator and had it setup in front under the canopy.  Our camper had tons of storage.

Up late again sitting around a fire.  Red squirrels are chirping and the ground squirrels are running around the gravel drive.  A heavy dew is present and crows are flying.  Today i take the grandson to a ranger program and then on to Cabelas to buy him some camo clothing, but 1st, coffee.

All new springs and hardware were installed in the spring of 2016 and the trailer has been used for local camping so not too many road miles on the chassis. In fact, it has never been off Long Island since 2005 when it was originally purchased by owner #1 and I bought from owner #2 who is an anal marine mechanic

I actually saw no evidence of dry rot the tires were also replaced in 2016 I just think he has been trying to sell since early last year and due to Covid and wants to get it off his uncle's driveway before he has to start paying for storage somewhere. I also think that he desperately needs the money to keep his head above water financially. Once he knew I was interested he seemed almost desperate to finish the deal before I found something better for less money. But I already looked at several locally available trailers and all smelled of mildew to lesser or greater degrees. Also most of the 30 ft trailers within 500 miles were either in bad shape being sold for way too much for my modest budget. I know the price seems too good to be true but at this point, I think the seller and I connected (karma) to meet both our immediate needs. His for funds and mine for a place to live while on the road to my next home state.

Our RV sat for a couple years before we bought it... the tires also look good but I can feel vibration in them from flat spots. We only use it to travel 3 hours round trip tops to local RV/ATV parks so I have yet to invest in 6 new RV tires. That's gonna cost a pretty penny..

He has Blocks under the levelers and the tires are off the ground but will spend the money for new tires if they are needed and if there are flat spots and dry rot I will know that once I tow it to the dealer for the maintainence and will be selling 3 of my PB's that I no longer need to fund any necessary upgrades like wheel bearings, a pair of new deep cycle batteries, a new awning and new tires if needed.

I know it is only 2 weeks since I posted the End Thread and now will start a new thread "Next Chapter"  When I leave NY if it won't fit in the trailer and inside the truck, it will be disposed of in one fashion or another. I plan on traveling light and will not compromise on that concept even if it causes me some additional pain from letting go.

Getting hydrated up with some fruit punch GatorAid G2. The plan is to jump on the 0 turn after work and mow our current property. Mowed the new place Sunday. Heat index is through the roof but I need to get it done. So if you happen to fly your drone overhead, I'll be the guy on the red Snapper melting under the straw hat...

I will make a camper suggestion Don.  Based on my experience, get a gas hot water on demand system.  They are not expensive and they will save you a lot of gas and yet provide you with longer showers than the usual 5 gallon RV water heater.

Betty Lou and I learned to adjust the water between hot and cold and took cooler showers to make it last longer. many camp sites have bath houses as well. Those are especially handy when we are out getting muddy all day on the ATVs.
Stop at the bike wash and clean the bike off, then to that bathhouse before heading to the RV.

I will look into that once I get settled where ever I end up putting down roots. At least temporarily I will just do like  I did in the navy underway wet down shut water soap up then turn on the water to rinse down. That way I can conserve water when I am traveling between campsites. Free is for me and many Walmarts allow overnight camping in their parking lots and there are other similar arrangements for what is called Boondocking. I will probably get a small Inverter generator for power to the A/C when it is hot. 

PS; I just sold 3 PB's for enough to take care of whatever the trailer needs in the way of maintenance and inspection

Good morning GTA! It’s Hump Day! Happy Wednesday! Up at 0415 CT. Yesterday was rough, didn’t start that way though. I have my Wednesday morning meeting with the guys at 0600, then I have a Harbor Freight filter change to do. After that, who knows? I just hope for a good day. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0415 CT. I'm trying to be really quite this morning.  I'm letting my wife sleep late. Today is our 48th Anniversary! It's one of my wife's best friends birthday this week and she's has been invited to eat lunch today and take in a movie with the birthday girl and another of her best friend but she was reluctant to go because of our anniversary. I encouraged her to go since they don't get to do much together anymore.  Those girls have given each other birthday and Christmas gifts for the past 40 years and I didn't want her to miss out. 
She has been the love of my life since I was 15 years old, we celebrate our marriage every day. 
But as far as celebrating our 48th Wedding anniversary we will be enjoying the Outlaw ribeye steaks from Longhorn Steakhouse tonight.
