Well, I'm getting ready to move out of my home of 22 years because my wife doesn't want to be married anymore. Part of her reasoning is she is tired of being everybody's caretaker but both her adult sons still live at home at no financial cost to either they are 25 and 29. I think that she is afraid that I will become sick and frail since she is 15 years younger than me.

I'm sorry to hear that Don. I can't begin to imagine how I would feel. My wife and I are the same age and have been married 48 years. I know I would definitely feel betrayed if I were in your shoes.

Right now I am still working on getting my head around this whole mess and not do anything foolish and still protect my own financial needs. Due to my reduced earnings I can actually demand monthly alimony for a period of time along with a percentage of the house

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CT. It’s the day before Friday! My dispatcher told me today will be an easy day, and it should be. I have to clean the supply & return grills on a Starbucks. On my way in I’m going to stop & get my haircut. I’ll try to get the oil changed in my boss’ van, too. My Burris scope rings are at my local hub, should be here today. I’d sure like to get them mounted tonight. Yesterday, I did get 3 days vacation approved- 19th to the 23rd, boy is that going to be nice- a 5 day weekend, just 2 weeks from today! 

Don, I’m real sorry to hear what you’re going through. I hope and pray the best works out for you, regardless the situation.

Thank you, It would be easier to deal with if I were 20 years younger and still working full time. Starting my life over at 74 is a bit more daunting.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0530 CT. It’s the day before Friday John and I'm going to get my other two yards cut and trimmed today. Hopefully I will have Friday and Saturday to my own but I don't know chores may be given to me.

It feels good this morning woke up to 65° that's 10 degrees cooler than yesterday morning.

Going to look at a couple of used 30 ft travel trailers today both are well within my budget and will not deplete my liquid funds. I will probably go ahead with the F150 purchase on Saturday and speak to my son about parking the trailer on his driveway if one of the three local trailers are in good enough condition to purchase

Don, I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through too, I have and will pray it works out for you and that you will find peace through it and afterwards.

I was up at 5:00, my dad's wedding rehearsal is this afternoon and then he is taking out those that are in the wedding tomorrow to dinner tonight. Last year when my mom passed away none of us could imagine my dad finding anyone else to ease the pain of his grief but he did and is starting a new life at 88 years old with his new love that is 25 years younger than him and widowed 9 years ago.

You have my sympathy Don.  That is certainly a kick in the stones.  Late shift today but the sky is looking pretty overcast.  The park will probably be slow if it rains.  Hoping a big purchase of .25 caliber pellets comes today.  I’ve got stuff coming from PA and Midway USA.  I want to get out and shoot my new gun!

Right now I haven't picked up any of my pellet rifles in a couple weeks due to trying to put my life in some kind of order before I move into the next chapter

  Bill that's exactly what I'm doing right now. I will be heading out to look at a 30 ft travel trailer shortly it is well within my budget for the total cost of tow vehicle and camper. I figure a 30 ft trailer will easily accommodate my modest needs since I can be objective as to the needed essentials for one person

I could easily live in a 30' space. The issue becomes things we now take for granted such as laundry and long term food storage. Waste disposal for another.

Actually Gertrude/Ron lives in a 28 ft travel trailer in Masa AZ and that's what got me thinking, this way I can be mobile until I decide on a final location to live depending on how things go I will either be moving from NY next May at the latest. If things get too uncomfortable staying in my present home I will pick up and leave by October. 


In any event, the travel trailer gives me more options rather than moving into an apartment and paying rent then deciding I don't like where I am. This way with a large travel trailer I just have to disconnect from sewer and electric hook the trailer to the F150 and open the Road Atlas and pick my next choice

30' would have been amazing! My bunk was 6' long and 2' wide, it lifted up to expose a footlocker where all my earthly possessions lived.

I also had a bunk-mate both above and below me. I slept a lot of nights on a jet wing so I could have a little room to my self.

I can adapt to any living conditions, so can we all.

The memsahib and I, our teenaged daughter, three dogs and a cat lived six years in a 38’ park model.  30’ sounds like plenty to me.  You may find you can be comfortable with less.  Smaller campers are easier to tow/back/park.  And it is often easier to find a spot for a smaller camper.  Good luck!

I still have a class 3 CDL so maneuvering a trailer is not a big issue and many sites are now pull through. I looked at a really nice 30 ft with a slider and it sets up really nice with Elec brakes and all the amenities with Queen size bed Best of all it is only $8,000 with the entire stabilizer hitch kit to plug into the receiver on the truck. This will end up being my home for the next few years until I can find a rich old lady to support me in the manner I would love to be accustomed to. The thing has been well maintained and I will only need to replace the awning
