A neighbor trapped a hog so that's one less boar around to tear up my place now. Made my day seeing that.

I am surprised (and knocking on wood) that I have not seen wild hogs on my place. They are all around this area. If I DO see any, you can bet I will try to shoot it and put in in the freezer. Feral hog (as long as it is not too large, too old, or an old male) is GREAT table fare!

Yesterday we went to my daughter's house which is about 1 hour away.
I visited with the son-in-law while my wife and daughter went and had their nails done. When they got back we all went out to lunch.

Now as for today!  We are going to have the last CPS check which is a well baby check so that we can get the final approval to take the baby great granddaughter to her new/permanent home in Idaho.

And my wife is flying to Idaho tomorrow with the baby.

Congratulations Dan. It's been a long hard journey through a jungle of red tape. I still can't believe why it has taken so long.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0540 CDST. I'm going to the doctor at 0800. I'm pretty much expecting him to find multiple things wrong with the old body.  We've been praying and I've called on a few prayer warriors to assist.

All afternoon I have been receiving the results from the lab tests that were ordered by my doctor.
▪My blood pressure was high, I figured it would be;
▪My A1C was 6.6 better than I expected; ▪Urinalysis-Normal;
▪Renal Function Panel- all within normal levels with the exception of glucose which was 118;
▪Albumin Urine Random - good;
▪Lipid Panel- LDL and HDL good but elevated triglycerides;
▪PSA Screen excellence

Nurse called to tell me the good news.
I need to change my diet, cut back on carbs and I need to loose 40 lbs.
Follow up in 1 month.

Thanks, approval was given and she will be home soon. I think the current CPS case worker slipped today when she said " this is the first case I have had that the baby is going out of state" that explains some of the time. The thing I still question is why CPS kept switching case workers for no divulged legitimate reason.
 This also would have been three weeks ago except they didn't open the urgent email from Idaho that they got then until last Friday when my grand daughter got a hold of the right person finally that actually checked their Inbox for it.
 They said they missed the urgent email since only the case number and the babies name was not on the email subject. 
These CA CPS people would not last in a private sector job.

It seems like the case workers around here drop the ball a lot. I know of a case a few years back when the case worker of a foster child was switched. The new case worker allowed that foster child to be reunited with her birth mother.  The very next day the mother was arrested at her boyfriend's house for possession of crystal meth and child endangerment when the police raided the house on an anonymous tip. Her little 6 yo girl was in a bedroom asleep. Rumor was the first caseworker was the one who called the police. 
Poor communication between the two caseworkers was the reason CPS said this happened.  No reasons why they switched the caseworkers were given.

Good morning GTA! Woke at 0342 and nodded back off til I got up at 0413 CT. My back is hurting pretty bad. The fill in chiropractor was a no show. So I ran over and helped the crane operation get finished before I went to my scheduled doctor appointment. My results from my labs weren’t available immediately, but I’m not worried. 2 weeks ago my blood pressure was 120/76, yesterday it was 128/74. Today’s first job is a recall on the new guy. I’m not mad about it, whatever I find and fix I should be able to pass on to him and he’ll learn. Today is hump day and I’m not working this 4th of July weekend.

Good morning all!  4:00 a.m., it’s pouring down rain and thundering.  That means our 55 lb labraweenie is having an anxiety attack.  So that means I’m up!  He will calm down after the front passes and the thunder subsides.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0444 CT. So the new guy’s van broke down 2 hours from his home and had to get towed. So I have to pick him up today and he’ll work with me again. The doctor called my wife yesterday and my cholesterol is higher than he’s seen in anyone my age. So I guess I’ll be learning something new to me and he wants me on meds immediately. After our first job, I’ll find a way to get to the pharmacy. I’ll call the doctor myself and find out what’s going on and what I’m supposed to do.

John I'm sorry to hear about your high cholesterol numbers. I know that you'll have to go thru some diet changes. That's was hard for me but I did lower my numbers to acceptable numbers except for my triglycerides they're still high.

We’ll get through it Brother. I’m kind of bummed this morning. I’m glad I’ve got help at work today, “coincidentally”. They didn’t give my wife any numbers. They were all just freaking out. Like I said, today I want the actual info from the doctor so I can know where I stand, what it means and make realistic goals. I’m glad you’re feeling better.

Today will be a day spent visiting some guns I plan to be posting for sale on the GTA Classified.
The plan is to make sure they function as they should and get some pictures. Then see what boxes I have for packing and shipping each and deciding on fair selling prices.

I had to take care of some business via an automated system on the phone this morning which involved entering several series of numbers. Everything had to be entered twice to verify. If I hesitated the slightest bit, the system would boot me out and I would have to begin again.
I do not recommend doing this first thing in the morning because it really affects the remainder of the day...

Yeah I know what you mean Bill. Because of Covid there wasn't even an option for my wife to go. I'm like you I had rather her stay at home.
My wife and I discussed (because we don't talk about prayers on here) what John's doctor told his wife, John said,"The doctor called my wife yesterday and my cholesterol is higher than he’s seen in anyone my age". That makes me think it's some high numbers, and not that he's blowing it out of proportions to use as a scare tactic.  I'm interested to see the numbers as John is to just see how high.

Thanks Scott. My pain down there had me really worried that I had prostate cancer or worse. I was extremely happy that it was just a bacterial infection probably caused by a UTI. I had a quite a few praying for me. It's humbling to know.

I go through the same thing with blood work, if something is slightly out of kilter the doctors go bananas and want to start throwing me on unnecessary meds and tests. I can control my condition with diet, exercise, and supplements. I already have a messed up immune system as it is, why do I want to take something that will make it worse. I don't even have office visits anymore, audio conference is all I do now. Don't get me wrong, if I have something that is not right I will go in and have it looked at.

Thanks for all your concern and comments. I’m picking the meds up here in a little bit, so I can know what it is, what it’s supposed to do and side effects. We have a little chaos going on at work with the new guy’s van. But sometime today I’m going to call the doctor. My wife wouldn’t have been there, but Ayrabella had a doctor appointment the same time at the same place. Oh well. I asked her last night to work with me, not berate me for it. I think she will be fine once the ball gets rolling.

Only a guess,.... but with your long and unpredictable work schedule,.. I would imagine that fast food is the go-to when out in the field? Over the years,... just that alone can be a huge factor.

Pretty much, Chris. Lots of coffee and lots of junk. I’ll be brining my lunch with me again starting next week.
