Weekend of damage control, dealing with downed dead trees and a leaky shop roof. Trying to mow some part of the yard that is not flooded to keep the mosquitoes at bay, believe me that will be a losing battle in the coming weeks. Keeping an eye on the tropics for the next blow to come in. Just another exciting day on Muddy Acres.

Working to pull down all the bird feeders and secure the garbage can. Looks like we got a whole family of Bears camping out in the woods.

We had a young Male sleeping in an old Oak 2 years ago and I think momma and her Cubs have moved in.

One of our neighbors (1/3 mile away) sent a load of rock salt at an adult bear last month so I think she came to our house.

I'll leave them be if they leave me be but if there is a confrontation, I'll be calling our CO letting him know the outcome.

He's doing well under the circumstances. He calls and talks to Betty Lou and Boss almost daily.
He seems to be in good spirits. I think he has resolved to the fact that his stay is long term.
They still haven't lifted the ban on in room visits. The would have to lift him into a wheel chair and move him to a common area.
He don't want no part of that.

Thanks for the update. I figured that maybe with steady care and better meals, he might lose a few and be better off,.. gradually. No doubt it sometimes take a long while to reverse things, if at all. There has to be some fight and will left in the dog. Best of wishes for him.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CT. I’m tired, but not burnt out. Summer has barely started. But it’s pouring rain right now and for that I am grateful. No plans, I’m still on call. Last night my back, shoulders & hip were bugging me on the way home, I didn’t get to the chiropractor on Friday. My wife & girls are going to Ch**ch. I might lay in the spa tub for a couple hours this morning. I could still get called to work. If not, I’m just going to hang around & recoup. I may shoot some Co2 later if it works out.

Good morning GTA! I went to bed at 0030 at up at 0450 CDST.  I was tired but more worried than tired.  I had scheduled a doctor's appointment a month ago for my high BP and elevated blood suger and I've got a doctor appointment Tuesday. But my main concern now is I'm thinking I may have some prostate problems or even worse. 

I've noticed a decrease in pressure in the waterworks and the last two or three times mowing I noticed a pain in my groin that subsided fairly quickly after I got off the mower. This time however the pain hasn't really subsided.  Not enough to keep me from falling asleep its not a major pain just kinda a mild constant pain in my groin area.

Anyway for those who believe in prayer as I do please add my name to your prayer list. Thanks in advance.

I know that feeling... I had a sheet of ice come off the top of a truck and land in the passenger seat of my pickup... That was crazy because it only crashed through that side of the windshield.
I had no where to go, there was a car in the left lane.

Wow sorry that happened but glad you were fortunate to not have a passenger riding with you.

the last two or three times mowing I noticed a pain in my groin that subsided fairly quickly after I got off the mower.

Consider taking saw palmetto pills for your prostate if you're not already. I've had groin pain after mowing as well but in my case it's because I constantly have to strain my legs to keep me from slipping out of the seat due to my bumpy yard so I need to unbolt the seat and put longer bolts in the front with spacers around them which will raise the front of the seat and keep me cupped in it. Wish I had the money for a spring seat and suspension on my mower to not be such a harsh ride for me thanks to the hogs that damaged my yard but those mowers cost over $10k.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0400 CT. I made it through my on call week. This morning first thing, I have an appointment at a supply house to have the new GPS/dash camera installed on my van. Then, I’m not sure what. I had a local first call for a pastry case not temping. But the dispatch is gone. All day yesterday after about 1300 hrs our cell service has been spotty at best. My work stuff and our personal phones weren’t working. I didn’t get any calls yesterday, I’m sure hoping it’s not because they couldn’t get ahold of me.

Very fortunate that I didn't have a passenger.. not only would they had been seriously injured, it was a company vehicle and there would have been lots of aftermath issues.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CDST. My wife needs to go into town (18 minute drive) to get some fabric and thread for her sewing project.

I decided to make a grocery curbside pickup while we're there. The fabric store opens at 0900 so I'll drop her off and then go pick up the order. I'm about 5 pots from being out of coffee. So the need is dire.

Woke up at 4:30 and Betty Lou was already up, dogs been out and coffee was on. Nice to smell fresh coffee brewing when you first wake up.
