I'll also be building a sledge out of scrap lumber to move the rocks.   Not sure if It will be moveable with a lever though.   I have a couple come-alongs I can daisy chain and hopefully tow the sledge.    I tried dragging the rocks using just the come-along but it was pretty slow going.

Going to head up to flagstaff to homedepot to pickup a window airconditioner. The dogs have been suffering in the heat we've had lately with the house getting up to 82 inside while it was 96 outside. Wanted to get a swamp cooler but the wife aka the boss says she can't handle the humid cool due to her back having all kinds of metal in it from 3 back surgeries.

I have been thinking of buying one of those portable water coolers to put in my living room. I have central air, but I usually only use a window ac in my bedroom, because it is much more energy efficient. It is usually adequate, but I'd like to have a little more cool in the LR area, especially as summer goes on.

Well, drove the 54 miles to flag only to find out the one they showed in stock was damaged. GRRRR! Going to be driving to Bullhead city tomorrow as they're suppose to have 2 in stock but this time I'm going to call first!!

We hit 101F yesterday and high 90's on Friday, 90F today so I'm a little worn and low on fluids right now. 

I slept in today, well, 'slept' isn't the right word, I just laid there is a semis conscious state, enjoying the AC and the covers. Hmmmmmmm   

Then it was off to mow the pasture, the lawn, the ditch and the walking paths. 3 mowers, 11 gallons of gas and 10 bottles of Gatorade later, momma came home and I whooshed her off to the DQ for ice-cream! 

Not ready for work tomorrow as I seem to have an 'attitude problem' right now with the sump pump and a mower spindle as well as a pile of Gauntlet....

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CDST. Hope everyone had a good weekend, I sure did. I didn’t get any calls to work, so I’m ready this Monday morning. David, that’s a lot of mowing, and boy you guys up north are taking up some pretty high temperatures already. It’s not even officially summer yet, is it?! We haven’t hit the 90s yet and still have some more rain coming. I’ve got a Starbucks filter change to do today and waiting on parts for quoted work. I didn’t go to Lowe’s after Ch**ch yesterday… I ate too much  so I’ll have to stop by on the way home after work.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CDST. Well it rained yesterday again. The rain gauge shows over 2-1/2". My grass really enjoyed it. I was pretty much confined to the house. We didn't go to church we streamed the worship service and zoomed the Bible fellowship class.

Afterwards I did make some shooting sticks like the ones I saw on a video posted in a thread somewhere on GTA. I'll see if I can find it and I'll post it.

I was skeptical at first but it seems like it's really going to work well. I can't find my swivel bucket cushion I'm thinking my son has it.

I'm taking Lorelei,  granddaughter #3, to her church this morning at 0730 to leave for youth camp and I'll pick her up Thursday.  I'll then go by Walmart to pickup a curbside grocery order.

I have a busy week this week...will be hostess to a new York friend for the next couple of days, then working wed and Thu. Off Friday!

I got up at 6am and saw the two granddaughters and two greats off, they were here with me the last couple of weeks while my wife was gone to Missouri, to take care of arrangements for her sister that passed away. They're headed home to Idaho. So now we are back down to the wife and I and the baby that my granddaughter is going to adopt as soon as she is approved by CPS to do so. I told her she would probably get the approval right before she reaches her home. She has passed all that CA requires and all that Idaho requires separately too, all that is left is for the two States bureaucracies coordinating so that they officially agree together.

I am going to my dad's to fix his evaporative cooler in a little bit.

I feel like telling him since he is young enough to just get engaged to get married he should fix it himself, LOL. 

I am actually happy for him that he has someone. It does feel a little strange that she is a couple of years younger than me though. Dad's 25 years older than her. He has been acting younger since they started dating though.

Up at the crack of noon!  Gonna make a scrap run today and haul off some of the appliances/cars/junk I’ve been hoarding.  I’ve got enough copper and brass to make it a profitable run. I’ll use the proceeds to procure a sack and a bottle. Then I’m gonna lay around the shanty and get a good buzz on!  How the po buckra do spend they day off.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CDST this morning.  I'm taking granddaughter #2 to band practice at 0900 this morning.  She will be in the high school marching band next year she plays clarinet.

We had over 5" of rain over the weekend, it was so humid yesterday it was miserable outside.  It looks like a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms today.

Need to run into town after dropping Aly off and pick up my wife's Rx.

I haven't decided what airgun related activity I will pursue when I get home.

Good morning GTA! Up at 0430 CDST. Yesterday was a rough day for the office as my dispatcher had a scheduled day off. I did my thing, a PM and 2 service calls. Both calls took a bit of work, but still ended up with 2 big quotes. Like 3 steps forward and 2 steps back, adds work to an overloaded schedule this time of year. It is what it is, but that said, no one gave me a first call for today. So, I won’t know until up to 0800 what I’m supposed to do. When I’m ready I’ll go wash my van. If my dispatcher catches it early, she may call me between 0700-0800. Looks like the rain petered out on us. We got a little bit off & on yesterday, probably won’t get any today, maybe some overnight or tomorrow morning.

Less than 3 weeks away from a 2 week summer shutdown at work. I'll probably need rehab after that shutdown... lol
Work always gets stupid just before and right after shutdown so there is that.

Up at 600 am,
let Chance and Sage out, no deer in the hay fields, got a cup of Joe,
and decided that today I'll take the SxS, up to the top of the Humbolt Mtns,
the weather man says it will be 80* on the valley floor, but we'll be at 9500+' (AGL).

Pack a lunch, and let the boys play in the snow bank that is always there, good place to cool down some drinks,
eat lunch and enjoy the wild flowers that are blooming, may get to see some rock chucks,
and Mule deer and always a Yeller Dog or two.

Hope the winds don't get too high, was over a steady 25-30 mph and gusts over 45 mph on the valley floor,
at 9500+ feet, you won't be able to stand up........LOL

And watch out for Bell Worms, saw one last week on the ride to the top of the Trinity Mtns..............
was over 2' long and had at least 7-8 rings.
Will have the 22 cal Varmint along for the ride, just in case...............

Good morning GTA! Up at 0500 CDST. We had a lot of rain yesterday morning and it has started the morning at 76° with get this, 96 % humidity.  Yep, ninty-six percent humidity, feels horrible outside, it's so hard to breath. Zero breeze.

Had a great time playing host for the past couple of days- spent the time in Fort Worth playing tourist and had a wonderful time!

I think maybe the persistent rains in this area may be slowing, so maybe I can finally get back into my project.

Today should be the last 90F day for this streak, we usually dont get this kind of heat this early on and not this many days in a row, it was 9 days straight.

Our high water table kept the grass and garden watered so we are still green but others already have August brown grass. Its going to be an interesting summer....

Things change fast in the automotive manufacturing industry.
There was already a World wide shortage on the computer chips due to the pandemic but now, to add salt to the wound, the World's largest chip tester in Taiwan has shut down sending 1200 employees into a 2 week quarantine. Production here is expected to be put on hold beginning tomorrow and continuing through next week. This comes at a time when we are making a 3 week run to our 2 week summer retooling shutdown at the end of the month. It's a guessing game as to how that will all shake out.
If I had to guess, salaried employees, such as myself, will be required to come to work next week even though there will be no production and hourly folks will be furloughed. Then salaried employees will be expected to work the first week of the paid shutdown to make up for production losses.
