Just finished installing a new Mail Box.
Some one decided to hit it with a sword or something!
Looking hard at the Mail Persons as major suspects!
 

In the mid 80s we were victim to the baseball bat vs. mailbox prank twice in a two week period. I made a cage for mine bending 1/2 tubing in the shape of the mailbox.  I shaped and welded an expanded metal cover over the tubing. It has about an inch space all around the mailbox with a 1/4" flat metal base. I used a large chain (the links are 5" x 8" x 1") and welded the links in an upside down " J " shape and used it as a post. I put it 2 feet in the ground with concrete to hold it secure. In 35 years it's never had an attack.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0625 CDST.  It's 62° cloudy with a 20% of rain today high of 77° with S 7 mph winds.

Yesterday I fried fish, French fries and made coleslaw for lunch all outside to keep from smelling and cluttering up the kitchen. 

My wife is making 6 stuffed animals, well they're actually bunny dolls in a dress with bloomers, to give to her friend's who either have toddler daughters or toddler granddaughters.  And she is using our kitchen granite countertop to cut out the fabric. She has three bunny bodies completed with three more to go. I bet she'll remember she's left someone out and they'll be more. 

I did get to shoot my R9 .177 quite a bit. Other than about 3 or 4 shots at 30 yds to tweak the zero and a few to settle in the scope most all the shots were at 45 yrds.

My R9 exceeded my expectations of my ability to shoot at the longer distances. I have read stories from people on here shooting at longer distances but believe me 45 yrds IS longer distances for me. I will remain shooting at 45 yrds as a max until I'm comfortable and confident that can hit 1" or maybe 1-1/2" groups ( spinners / silhouettes) at least 90% of the time.  Then I'll cautiously move out to 50 and beyond eventually.

Mornin' Boys and Girls...
The last mow of the year last season I had a run in with an exposed root and severely bent a blade on my zturn mower. It was due for a new set of blade anyways. I just put it in the barn and the blade change went on the todo list.
I since have ordered and received the replacement set of blades.
Spring has sprung and it's time to do the blade change and service the zturn. Yesterday I got the mower out and moved it to a concrete slab we have at the bottom of the back deck steps. This is where I perform such activities to avoid laying amongst the fire ants and such. I got it up on jack stands but that's as far as I got due to the afternoon heat and lack of energy. I'm just coming off a 4 day battle with the flu... (not COVID).
This morning the plan is to complete the job and get after spring cleaning and mowing. Slow and steady will be key to getting it done.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0600 CST and actually dozed back off til 0700... had a really good Barn Meeting last night. I got in about 2115, stayed up with my wife an hour and set the clocks ahead... to 2315... so, my body knows the drill, I’ll straighten out when I get to bed tonight at 2100. 

It’s supposed to rain here between 1300 - 1900. Other than Ch**ch this morning and small group this afternoon, I don’t have much planned. Tomorrow it’s back to work, so I’ll just take it as a day of rest. Which I usually do.

Well, the blade replacement went well... no blood was lost in the process... 
The yard got a relative good cleaning and mowing.
Next up, move the RV back into it's resting place and get the trailer put back to it's spot as well.
I smell breakfast first.

Woke up at 0600 was walking the beach by 0700. Breakfast buffet and by 0900 we are on the lounge chairs in the sand.
Plans today are beach, lunch, beach, pool Bar, dinner... pool Bar then bed.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

John, I'm glad your Barn Meeting went well. What was your attendance last night? Do you cook there or does everyone bring something? I'm jealous but sadly I don't really see me being able to pull something like that off here.

Back to actual church meeting today.  Been holding out for Michele’s mom and step dad (80’s).  He had a heart attack a few months back, bypass surgery and scheduled for valve replacement.  They were recently vaccinated for COVID and no longer as fearful so we can resume some of our life now since we were their help.  It’s been 5 months so I’m looking forward to it.

We are also meeting a young man today that has shown an interest in our daughter Amy (20).  We do things more traditional/old fashioned than many in our current culture.  We have the privilege of meeting this young man and either giving approval or caution about about our daughter spending more time with him.  I have already interacted with him through phone and text and I am already impressed.  Our main concern is that his character is one that is honest and has a mind to protect, not prey on others.  So, our day will be filled with fellowship and food and just enjoying the first day of my weekend!  No schedule other than ^^^^^^ 💥😊

Dan, I got plenty of “me” time, so I suppose I’m ready to get back to work. We have a cowboy cook, he says he does it so he doesn’t have to do dishes, haha! He’s really good at what he does though. The guys who put it on bring in the food, they don’t ask for anything in return, just the fellowship and spreading the word on what we do. We want to start one in our town on a different Saturday of the month so we can continue to attend each other’s. Last night we had about 40 guys. Buffalo burgers, hot links and sausages. And an encouraging word.
