Good Morning GTA! Up at 0500 CST... and it’s 17*F outside, and if you factor in windchill 6*F.

Normally I would be complaining but after seeing your temperatures John I feel real fortunate.  We saw about 7 or 8 snow flakes just before bedtime and that must have been it as there no sign of any this morning.

John I'm sorry your company want you out working in those weather conditions.

Good morning all, up at 5, coffee and load the boiler, yadda, yada, yadda.

Significant warm up this morning, 3 degrees up from yesterday but there is hope, supposed to hit 32 F this weekend so relief is in sight.

We lost the sump pump last night but we went to the cities to get a replacement,  gotta check on this this morning then head in to town for work.

You all stay warm, be safe, cant wait to see pix of sunny skies and green grass!

John we're all electric on our hill as well and my heatpump is keeping us at our desired temperature.  The heat setpoint is 65* and it’s 65* in the house. It is cycling on and off normally.

So if yours has reached its limit I assume it's running constantly right?

Constantly. And actually I noticed it yesterday when it was -4*F outside, setpoint was 70*F and it was 67* in the house. I have 2 stages of electric heat in the air handler too. It caught up midday and stayed at setpoint til I went to bed, it was 3* outside without the windchill. Last night I told my wife I’d get ahead of it by bumping it up to 71 or 72, she didn’t approve. But I bumped it up to 71* and it was fine, she didn’t complain. It dropped another degree in the house just now, it’s 65*. I’ve got it set to 71* until 10am when it’s supposed to get above 0*. It’ll get to 71* and then cutout, go back schedule and not come on again until it drops below 70*. She was worried it’d break, but I installed this stuff and it’s doing fine. My main concern was the power staying on. Up until a few years ago we’d have power outages, but they did some major upgrades to the substation and we’ve been good.

I got propane heaters, candles and lanterns, put the food and beer outside to stay cold and most importantly.... my air tanks are full... 
Heck, we pay money to go camping without the comforts of home.. this way we do it free.

I watched some graphics on that Polar Vortex, crazy cold. 36* would be a little heat wave for you all, Tom. Keep safe & warm everybody! DST & Spring are only a month out now. We’ll be cutting grass and killing snakes before we know it!

Just a few degrees above freezing here. Shop toy up and running, me happy now. Try and find dry places for chickens to dry out and warm up. Pick the last of my citrus and juice it, I was hoping to keep the satsumas on the tree a little longer but between the rats and the cold weather I won't have many left. I need set up a bait station with door dinger and take them out that way.

Good morning GTA, we are just getting buried here in North West Indiana, it snowed all day and all night and is still snowing now and it's 10%. I wont be going any where today but I'm sure I'll be snow blowing all day! Here's what it looks like in my back yard.

Another day of shoveling snow.  At least the sun is shining.  It makes the 7° feel like 10°!

Guten morgen alle.  Der himmel ist grau und die luft ist kuhl!  45 and overcast.  A perfect day for hunting!  I was out at 6 am only to discover that I’ve got a flat tire on my truck.  It’s patched now and I’m drinking a cup of tea, looking at a map and trying to decide where I will hunt today.  Wish me luck!

I was up at 4:00, dressed and out blowing snow at 4:30, finished by 6:00 on the dot. Just in time to get to work by 7:00 (normally a half hour drive.

Hi Scott.

I only got about 20 inches of snow on the ground so I certainly can't complain about snow this year.  (So far that is.)
I still got March and April coming up though and we have had some real dumper Blizzards in both of those months.

I'll be getting a little more snow Wednesday.
As usual I'll be ready.
