Good Morning GTA! Up at 0500 CST. Today til tomorrow morning are going to be the coldest, -1*F right now. It’s only supposed to get to 6*F, then down to -7*F tomorrow morning. It’ll warm up pretty quick after that, though we are supposed to get more snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday. I’d say at my house we got at least 6” and it’s still snowing now, it’s hard to measure because the wind’s been blowing pretty good. We’ve got power and are plenty warm. The garage feels cold, it’s about 50*F in there, that heater can’t keep up, but as long as it isn’t freezing, it’ll do for now. I’ve got a service call in Oklahoma, but I doubt the roads are clear enough to get out. We’ll see after the sun comes up.

We finished our puzzle yesterday. It was delivered no February 9th but we didn't start on it till the next day so it took us 4 days to complete.  It was a lot if fun, we both remember puzzles in our teenage years but neither of us can remember the two of us putting puzzles together in our 47 years of marriage. 

I have two more coming from Amazon tomorrow.

Thanks John. Oh we spend every minute we can together we are best friends after all.

She doesn't care anything about firearms or airguns but while I'm outside enjoying those hobbies she is steadily bringing me snacks and coffee. She enjoys her house plants, sewing, baking, reading and believe it or not cleaning and organizing.

I am up with the early ouch alarm, sitting here waiting for daylight so I can get the backhoe in the shop without damaging something. Looking forward to getting the drum sander up and running. Get stuff done around the house before the next storm system rolls in. Getting kinda tired of the wet around here, ready for it to dry out. Just making the most of a wet, soggy day.

Good morning.



It is -28F outside at my place this morning. The wind chill is somewhere around -36F to -40F
It is 63 degrees Fahrenheit in my house this morning.
My big plan for today is to put some more wood in the basement wood stove. 
It is supposed to start warming up some, after today.
The forecasted +13 F on Wednesday, sure looks good to me right now.
Next Saturdays high is supposed to be near +22F.  Hurray !

John those are the same temps we have here. It may warm up a little because they say we will get another 10” starting later today.. I already have 1.5 foot on the ground, very unusual for this area. Normally when we get a lot of snow, it melts within a few days.

Dan, you and your wife sound a lot like us. The best friend thing gets thrown around a lot theses days, but you hit what it means to me. There is only one best friend, and I married her. I am a rich man indeed.

Back to the grind today. It’s killing the big bosses having everyone work from home. I may get some pressure to go back March 1, we’ll see. Glad to have a job either way.

My Mom, 81, does the really nice wood ones and the better cardboard ones. Once you do one of either,... you will be spoiled vs the cheaper cardboard ones. She and friends trade them around as well.

Well I envy ya’ll what are gettin the cool weather.  It’s a soggy forty five degrees here in sunny flarda!  It’s my first day off in eight days.  I intend to waller in the sack with the old woman for a while.  Then I might get up and do something. Go huntin or fishin maybe.  Just another day in paradise!

Nice work Dan-O!  Puzzles are relaxing and a great time to spend just talking. 

Every fall we have 3 puzzles that we bring out with the fall decorations and we set one up for everyone to work on.  We will complete all three throughout the season.  They have fall country scenes on them.

Tonight I am going to bed early in preparation for the morning. Alarm will be set at 04:00
7-10 inches forecast and I believe I will have to snow-blow 600' of driveway at 05:00 to leave by 06:00.

Luckily it's not a sewer pump, just washing machine and ground water pump. Inconvenient but not awful.

All done, went to town, got some Culver's, Costco and Home Depot, back in 4 hours.

Rambo decided he needed to go out at 3am. He smacked me with his paw and stomped his feet until he woke me up. He is getting on in years and I completely understand the need to answer nature's call when it calls.
So I got up, let him out and put the coffee on. Ten minutes later he was at the door wanting back in... it's cold out there. And wouldn't you know it, he went back to bed... 

BTW... it's 23*f here in Lower Alabama this morning... crazy ain't it?
I put buckets over the outside faucets. I had one break a few years back out by the barn. I don't know how long it was broke before I discovered it but my water bill went from  $25 to $400 than month... 
I'll definitely be checking on those before work this morning.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0400 CST... and it’s -12*F outside. Not considering the windchill. We’re all electric on this hill, so my heatpump has seen its limit. The heat setpoint is 70* and it’s 66* in the house. In the garage it’s 50* on the inside wall and 40* near the door. Neither dog wants out yet and I don’t blame them. Millie, my little dog took my spot on the bed and Chopper, my big dog is on the couch. This just isn’t normal, so fortunately, it’s supposed to get to 23* later today and it’ll be 56* come Tuesday. Although, we are supposed to get another 3”-4” of snow tonight. My work really wants us to try to get out today and they want me up in Bella Vista, by the Missouri line. I think they’re nuts, but I’ll give it a shot when we get above 0*F. Maybe the sun will come out.

-12 is real winter John. We have a warming trend, 8 this morning with a bunch more snow. May see 30 by the weekend!
I’ll crank up the blower once it’s light out. The wife will work from home today so my work day will be less lonely.
