This will be the coldest the longest since 1974. A new record! Out to fill the boiler, no exposed skin! Oh, last day of work this week and I get 2 days off!!
Unbelievable cold. I can't begin to imagine those temperatures, what has happened to global warming? I fear for many up near you who may not be prepared. Hunker down David and enjoy you weekend in the warmth.

Here! Here! I’m Dutch/Norwegian and suffer from the same hereditary disorder. My wife & I wished for more winter when we weren’t getting much of it the past few/several years. Well here it comes! Looks like it’s coming straight from you guys, David! -7 real temp prediction and maybe 9+ inches of snow is expected. It’s snowing right now and isn’t even on the radar yet.

Long shift at work starting at 3pm today. I’m mostly hoping that the snow they are talking about doesn’t come in and create too much damage/power outages. Everything at home is prepped just in case and I’ll simply enjoy my few moments with my family before I have to head in for the work marathon.

If it stays like this I’ll be happy 😊

yeah, I was not sufficiently diplomatic with an angry visitor. My own fault. Occupational hazard. As to the “fraud” part, my job is too much fun to be work. Since I get paid to have fun I must be de-frauding someone!

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0345 CST. Boiled an egg and tiasted a piece of bread for breakfast. Enjoying my coffee now. It 35° out now with a slight drizzle falling winds show NNW at 7 mph. High today 46° with a wintery mix expected till noon.
No plans but to keep the coffee coming.

Good Morning GTA! Up at 0500 CST. Just having coffee, hanging out with the dogs. It’s 12*, 0* with the windchill. It’s 87% humidity, so it’s snowing flurries. The Barn Meeting is not til 1800, so we may cancel. Driving home would be the major concern. Other than that, everything else is going to be canceled for a few days if it isn’t already. Yesterday when I got home from work, I picked up every loose thing I could and put it up. My steel spinners, squirrel and gopher are frozen in the ground. They’ll be fine, I need something to shoot at til they’re buried. After work (Dollar General) I bought a $10 cast iron pan to hang above the snow line.

Wow, I musta been tired, I slept all night. Usually I am up every hour and a half or so.
Today is Grand Daughter #4's birthday so there will be cake and Ice-cream for lunch.
I "plan" on shooting the 300S at some point today. See if I can hit the bull with this new compact scope.

Good morning all! Much needed sleep, got up at 7:30, boiler had nothing but a handful of coals in the bottom. Was down 30 degrees so I stoked her good!
Coffee is so warm..... brrrrrrrrrrrr!

I sleep 2 hrs... then I am up 2 hrs... then I sleep 2 hrs... and so on.
It has been this way since 1967.

The VA gave me a prescription for Trazodone.
That and Melatonin help some but it's not foolproof.

It is going to get Crazy Cold for the next few days or so.
The temp right now is -11F with a 8 mph NW wind, that works out to a -27F Wind Chill.
The high today will be around -5F and the wind speed will pickup to 10 or 15 mph so the wind chill stays in the -23F to -25F range all day.
Tonight the temps are supposed to drop to -27F to -30F.... the wind chill will be somewhere around -47F to -52F.
It is supposed to warm up to +13F next Wed. Hurray!

Sorry to hear that, Tom. Old man aches and pains get me up now and then.

Room temp is maxed out at 62 F, seems -25 is the limit for us to keep up. I'll reload the boiler when SWMBO wanders off to the hospital for work, I have to lie low as I ticked off my plantar tendon again and need to be off my feet to heal.

Tom... I am still working for 8 years before retirement so those "Normal Nights" of ours take there toll.
A night like last night was a welcome relief!

David... I woke up to a Balmy 18f it actually felt WARM! My plantars have a knob so big it shows in my foot prints in the sand... The Podiatrist was amazed I could walk.
