Sure hope Mrs. Pam gets to feeling better, Brother Dan. My wife’s knee blew up a couple days ago. Yesterday I brought her home a menthol infused knee wrap. Now if I can just get her to wear it. 

Wow! Sorry to her about that.  Yeah, my Pam is stubborn too. LOL. I hope Mrs. Andi is able to get over it soon.  Is anyone there with her during the day to help her?

Yeah I am up. Speed shopping at wally world, pick up zoo food at tractor supply, reset traps, relocate tree stand and camera and just maybe find a minute to enjoy my day off.

"blew up" as in swelled up? Gout can do that. Basically a built up of uric acid in the body and can settle into any joint. Basically inflammation. Lots (plenty) of liquids each day to keep the system flushed out. Very painful, big swelling, very stiff. You would think that someone smacked you in the knee with a sledge hammer. Likely if she did nothing to actually physical to injure it.

Just tossing it out there for consideration.

I got up at 4:30 am this morning and have been getting my gear ready to go hunting.  I'll be heading out real soon.

This morning's temp is +16 F and there is no wind. The high today is forecasted to be +25 F.
I have a two day window of warm weather to hunt in... then then it is going to get colder.
Sunday's high is forecasted to be -4F with a low of around -23F.
If there is any wind, after the temperature drops, then the wind chill factor will be.... well below zero.

Time to go..a hunting.

No, she’s got the dogs and that’s it. They’re no help except to keep you on the couch, haha! That’s probably all she needs right now.

No, Chris, she had knee surgery several years ago. Torn meniscus from a basketball injury. A couple years ago she was in a car accident, she got hit from behind and her same knee hit the dash under the steering wheel. The surgeon went back in for the meniscus again and also pulled out 3 bone chips. Now it just blows up if she twists it or even due to the weather. She’s pretty strong above & below the knee though. It’ll go down, if not she’s going back to the doctor.

Good morning GTA. Woke up at 0415 CST.  it's a chilly 29° morning in South Mississippi. It is supposed to warm up to 60° under sunny clear skies with only a 3 mph wind.
After taking my granddaughter Lorelei to school I'm going to go home.  if my wife's back is better, I'm going to load (winch) my Z turn on the trailer and take it in for repairs.  If her back isn't better I'll need to stay around here. Either way I'm going to shoot this afternoon, Hopefully !

I heard this saying yesterday,  "Hope you have a great day, if it's not great make it that way!"

Lazy-bones day off, up at 7:30, have to steal parts from my 18" chainsaw to fix the 22" chainsaw as several fasteners got loose with all the use I put the saws through and I just never got around to checking them until I heard the muffler rattling around.

Looks like metric splined screws are missing, those will be a tough part to find in rural MN.

Alarm went off at 5:50.
 Made coffee and grabbed my morning smoke and took the dog out to to her lead to do her "bizness".
 While standing in the garage, I noticed Hoosier Momma's car had a flat tire. 
 So instead of surfing GTA I got dressed and changed a tire at 6:00 before headin to work .
 Still left at my normal time but DANG what a way to start the day.

What do they do in the winter ? I assume that Oregon gets pretty darn cold, can the nutria survive under the ice like beaver and muskrats do?

The PNW west of the cascades doesn’t get that cold. To much water/rain. Water absorbs a ton of energy when it changes state.

My in laws are from the Portland area. When we met in the Palm Springs area they were shocked at how cold the desert can get at night- specifically the swing. No water to act as an energy bank.

Good morning GTA. Woke up at 0430 CST.  it's a chilly 36° this morning. It is supposed to warm up to 68° under cloudy skies with gusty SSW 15 mph winds.

I succeeded in winching (thanks to my father's portable 12 volt electric winch) my zero turn mower up on my trailer. I carried it to the Bad Boy dealer for repairs to a mysterious electrical problem.

Returned home, after lunch I touched up the paint on my metal spinners.

Today my plans are developing but still in the planning stages.

Good morning all,

Up at 5, coffee, load the boiler and off to work. Right now, we start the slide down to -20 F where we will stay for a week. I was able to lay up 2 long cords of wood this past week in preparation for the arctic vortex so we should remain toasty throughout the cold snap.

The good news is that it is expected to be dead calm much of the time so I will get some use of the window saddle for the 50 yard target. I will have to staple some up tonight so I dont have to trudge out there when it gets real cold.
