Good morning GTA. I woke up as 0220 CST but managed to fall back asleep. It felt good to sleep till 0430. I'm going to check the weather and I'll be right back. Edit: I'm back, it's 35° and calm now but weather forecast shows winds in the double digits by 0800. It's forecast to be 68°, cloudy with SSE @13. Yesterday when the wind was just 3 mph I managed 1.437" ctc groups at 45 yds with my HW50 .22. My best ever at that distance with that rifle, I was hoping to improve that but I have already found that double digit winds won't allow me to.
Hey John, I noticed the pictures of the elk you saw. I agree with Brett, it looks cold and dreary. I've never seen elk in the wild, buffalo yes but elk no. Thanks for sharing, later when Pam wakes up I'm going to show those pics to her. And congratulations Brett, I know you're proud of your daughter's acceptance into the USAFR.

Thanks Dan, Scott and Tom! I’ll pass the congrats to her tomorrow when I am home from work. Even though she doesn’t know you all I’m 100% positive that she will be happy about the support.Scott, she wants to do something like a medic, but it’s the reserves, so from what I understand there are only certain jobs available at the base that she will be serving from, not like the active military where there are jobs to choose from the entire branch and they put you where they need to fill that opening. So, as the dad with the classic military entrance where the recruiter promises you the world and once a person has signed on the dotted line the reality is that what was promised is NOT available and then left to choose from whatever IS available. I warned her multiple times about that. She assures me that as of now, there is a medic spot available at Joint base Lewis/McChord. I am doubtful BUT supportive and she is willing to go in even if she doesn’t get what she is hoping for. Time will tell. Funny thing about MY experience in the military is that I was trained in one job and when I actually got to my first duty assignment, I didn’t do anything even remotely close to what I was trained to do. The only thing that was similar was the AFSC.... that’s it.

Best wishes for your daughter and family, Brother!
