Thanks Johnny, I had skimmed over Hector's break-in routine a while back and I was wondering if Struckat was doing that.  Thanks for the links, I will check it out.  I always enjoy reading what others are doing whether I  decide to are not.

Alarm @ 0500.  Commute to work.  Read, coffee and almost time to head into the shop for dispatch.  Hope it's dry today. 

Need to get the day's work completed and commute home.  Hope to be by a particular store during the day to pick up an item or two for the shop at home.  Burgers are planned for dinner and probably some shop time with the boys.  After the kids are in bed Michele and I will most likely turn the lights low, sip hot tea and enjoy the stillness.  Except for the past couple weeks it's full steam ahead!  Looking forward to spring with longer, brighter and dryer days.  🌸🌼🌷🌻🌺💐

Good morning guys and gals, I'm up at 0330 CST. It rained and the wind blew yesterday and by the sound of the wind chimes on the patio the wind is still whipping around this morning.
After a piece of toast and coffee I'm going to start the dissambly of my RWS-460. 

I read a scripture yesterday that seems fitting for the day.

Romans 12:18…“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all men.”

Enjoy life.

Hi Dan,

Yes I went through Hectors procedure for break in of my 22 barrel that I ordered for my HW95. Run a patch several times after each shot for ten shots, then five shots, then ten shots, finished yesterday.

I did deviate from his instruction by cleaning with GooGone, then running JB with a mop for ten strokes, re-clean and start shooting. So my first 300 shots were “Controlled” as Hector likes to do.

I may never be able to tell if it makes a difference due to lack of springer talent, but it is very accurate at 10m. But so was my .177 barrel.

My 95 has a Vortek kit with almost 3 coils clipped. As a 22 it’s running about 650 with CPHP 14.3s. I am right on the edge of my ability of accuracy with this gun. I have plenty of same hole accuracy, but I have trouble at time controlling where that hole will be.

My most common miss is 1/8” to 1/4” high. Then I re-adjust me and I am back on take for a few shots, and all of a sudden I am 1/8” to the right....grrr
Then I gather myself and get back on target.

I went through the same thing with my HW30. Somewhere around 2,000 shots I gained “Hold consistency” and can shoot the 30 with a high degree of confidence of hitting or threatening a 3.5mm dot at 10m.

Based on my 30 experience, I am confident that I will learn the 95 in time. 

Today is more work from home, lots of meetings today.
Then this evening back to the basement shooting range to....stain closet doors.

Oh, Alchemy Airwerks parts will arrive today, so I will gut my new 2240XL and replace with better parts. Not the super blaster valve, but one they claim gives a little more power and is less waistful of co2. We’ll see.

Update.
The first five shots I measured velocity with the “China device.” Pretty consistent at 197mps which is 646fps.
I just checked a few minutes ago and after 300 shots running dry patches after so many, I am getting 205mps, which is 672fps.

And in my haste I forgot how much the China device throws off poi.
I shot the wall in the basement...Doh!!!

Well to me an increase of 25 to 30 fps tells me that Hector's method with the 300 shots must have done some good.

That sounds like fun.  It's  chilly cold here 40° but with a NNW 11 mph wind chill factor has it at 33°.
