Good Morning!
I was awake and up at 5:55 then got back in bed with my wife until 7:15. I went outside to see the snow nearby but the clouds are limiting visibility, hiding the mountains so far.


 Today's weather forecast is cool with a high of 48°F with periods of rain and S winds 5-10mph.

  Currently it is 41°F 82% humidity and calm.

I’ve been up and down all night. I went out between 0200 and 0300 to watch the pasture behind the house for Armadillos and again after 0430.  I didn’t see any Dillas’ but I did make video of a possum wandering around.   

Plans for today are to continue to recuperate from shoulder surgery.  I will take the chuck-it and a tennis ball back to the pond and exercise Belle some.  Swimming for tennis balls is her favorite pastime.  I will sit under the awning in the garden with the memsahib.  If I feel up to it I may start resealing a Crosman 760 self-cocker that’s on the bench.

We're heading south to new york city to spent the weekend with our son.   I'm planning on eating some great food.    One of our adopted girls will be staying to feed the cat and birds.

Picking up the pieces from another round of old age flares. My right hand thumb and index finger was the victim this time. The pain was so bad Wednesday night that I finally had to do a round of cupping from my neck to my hand to get relief from it so I could get some sleep. Yesterday was just the usual swelling and stiffness from the inflammation it causes. So I have kept my activity to whatever I can manage and get stuff done. I planted seed trays, went through old seed packets and dumped them into a bucket. I will till up a place and spread them out on it. It will be interesting to see what comes up, if it don't it's no problem. Just one less spot in the yard I have to mow. Not much else for today, make a mail run, clean out vegetable pots for planting, work on the van a little, and clean out the traps and reset them.

Good Morning, I got up at 5:59 this morning. I slept a good 5 hours and feel pretty good.

My joints are not hurting nearly as much as they did yesterday. It is 40°F 91% humidity and it is supposed to be mostly sunny with a forecast high temp today of 63°F. No more rain until late afternoon Monday.

 This week we had about 3" of rain as measured on my rain gauge in my backyard.

 I plan on cutting the old power pole and putting a driveway edge marker pole on each side of our driveway to help keep people from missing the driveway driving into the ditch so much. There is always some random person turning around that misses the driveway even though it is about 20' wide. The post holes should be as easy as it would ever be to dig after the rains have softened our ground this week.

 For those that don't know the ground here is very hard (rock like) when it's dry but softens nicely when it is soaked.

 That will put our old power pole to good use too.

Sometimes when it's been really dry and I need to dig a post hole I just run the garden hose on the spot for awhile. Or just dump a 5 gal. bucket of water if the hose don't reach. I add more water as I go deeper if needed. Around here ground water starts filling the hole after about a foot or so.

I got out in the shop early and tested a plethora of pellets including some NSA slugs I have had for some time now.
The Pinty P-Force shoots a wide variety of ammo very well.
More with that gun including some choro numbers today.
Right now Betty Lou is in the kitchen making breakfast.

Got a bowl of oatmeal in me and doing chores. Then it will be down to the shooting parlor.

I need to finish try to improve a Prod barrel. Then it will be time to put fresh cardboard on the trap and get some springer action.

Also a friend is printing some LDC that popped up here a couple days ago, I may head over and see how they turned out.

Same here, without moisture added I have seen a Pick axe curl. It is nearly impossible to dig dry in most spots.

 When I installed our garden chain link pipe posts for our garden area fence, I just used the water hose and water pressure to sink them into the ground instead of digging holes. Those posts are still straight and solid as the cemented in perimeter posts are 18 years later. I am sure there has been some strength lost from rusting but, it isn't apparent.

  The only post I have had break off was a cemented one that was hit by a teenager that came onto our parking lot to practice parking and failed at the task!

  I need to go start digging now that it is warmed up a bit.

I got one of two posts installed. The ground was not real soft but a 30" deep hole was doable. I am going to try to get the other one done after my late lunch.

Mornin y’all!  Storm blew through here about first light.  Now it’s overcast, moist, and green outside.  My shoulder is still very painful from the surgery so I don’t have much planned. I would like to move a huge collection of canvases from the attic out to my studio/man shed.  When I recover enough to paint again I will have everything organized in a real studio work space!  If the memsahib is willing that is the first task on my list.  The 760 is waiting to be resealed and I hope to take lots of pictures and post about that too.

Daughter #1's 40th birthday party is today so we will be heading there this afternoon.
  Hard to believe, seems like just the other day I brought her home for the first time.
 I get to play "Grand-dad" entertain the littles... not sure if it's going to be 3, 5, or 7 of them.

I don’t remember my stepdaughter’s birth.  I do remember my friend telling me 31 years ago that her little sister had delivered a baby and that it was Satan’s child!

That friend has been right exactly two times in her life.  The other time was when she told me that I was the perfect man for her little sister.
