Fourteen (14) LDC Test

Charlie, if you have any interest in testing a mod30 and the modified fx moderator I have, let me know.  I'm interested to see how they stack up

Dallas, thanks for your kind offer. There will indeed be another, larger test.

I am presently waiting on:

1) a new moderator to come in, the MM1 from this test but in its final production form which should be quieter than its prototype (already among the top five quietest tested here), plus:

2) a possible new design from a known GTA maker (one of his mods was tested here) except he has upgraded to monocore internals plus a METAL threaded endcap (some of the plastic-threaded LDCs here began to exhibit looseness/thread fatigue from all the screwing on and off during testing), and:

3) testing the "Never Before Seen" all-aluminum weekly pill box moderator to see how well it does against manufactured units, and:

4) this time all moderators will be shot through a NON-shrouded, NON-baffled, bare-barrel gun.

So I would indeed be interested in testing your two if you would like to get them to me.

Feel free to talk more via PM if you like.

Timeline I'm thinking about would be in another two or three weeks?

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I stopped calling those things "MODERATORS" on the forums —
and followed the lead of the guy who invented them in the first place —
and who called them in his US patent "SILENCERS." 😄

Has anybody tried attaching a real silencer on an airgun. I wonder how effective it is?

It depends on what airgun you are talking about, and what "effective" means to you:

A 700 FPE .50 cal air rifle that is not hearing safe can probably be rendered hearing safe with a .50 BMG suppressor.  A 30 FPE .22 already hearing safe air rifle, may not be rendered "mouse-fart quiet" with a .22 rimfire suppressor attached.

While there is overlap in the tech; the goals are different; so they do not achieve identical performance relative to expectation.  Can't be more specific than that on this forum.

 I have always preferred/proffered...  Can.. as it has a positive vibe... 

I can make that can do the Can-can quietly because of the can at the muzzle end     

being a mostly normal-ish male the Can-can  can bring a smile..

I only call the ugly ones a pickle... I mean nobody likes discharge from a pickle..

I like Comp/Compensator... but would rather roll that into...LDC... Loud Distraction/Discharge Comp...
