Almost there!

Did a little practicing at 103 yards today:
Man does tiny little variances in hold throw things WAY off at this distance......... Up and to the right, mainly.
But I did manage this group, only trouble is that I shot 6 times to get it...
Only wrote 5?? on it because I wasn't completely sure, was keeping my stack of targets in order; went to review them and then lost track of which one I shot when
. Decided that it must have took more than 5 shots, or else I would have stopped then
. Maybe next time
.

Jesse,
Perhaps? remind us of what it is that you are shooting? Caliber? Model? Brand?
Some type of shotgun,... I am assuming.

Whooops! Sorry, it's a Diana 350 N-Tec Magnum in .22, scope has the single remaining vertical string of mil-dots left and was shooting H&N Barracuda Match pellets; seated and off sticks. Geez, shotgun huh?
I'm only a 6-month Magnum Springer shooter, after all... That's a 6-inch ruler there, would have been a NUAH membership if that was 5 shots in that one group(and an official target). Targets shown are about
7" tall by 11" long
(Just measured 5 3/4"x8"), the dot is about 3/8" and the ring about 2"....

Jesse,
WELL,... in that case,... well done!
Just kiddin' on the shotgun comment,.. by the way. 103 ehh? You might be awhile gettin' something less than 6".
I do admire your resolve to the task at hand. Sticks?
That is showing some real confidence there!

Ha-Ha! It's all in good humor guys,
. I can say that it put a biiiig smile on my face when I watched those two on that one target land consecutively within .5" of each other and the dot
. Of course, I was so excited that all the others went all over the place but I didn't care
. Seated and sticks is the most stable setup that I have, don't have a shooting bench. The really bad one with them all way off up and to the right was somewhat deliberate, I was trying to nail down exactly what the differences in my hold were to have that effect. I think that I'm getting a handle on just
exactly
how I need to hold this gun, for me if it ain't quite tight enough into my shoulder my groups go to heck. I also have to watch that my off-hand isn't going to push the gun to the side when it lifts off the sticks from the recoil. I'm on my way to qualifying, just need more trigger time. About to start a long winter of very little to do (staying home to avoid COVID right now), so I'm on my way
.
