So - really considering going PCP. Still having springer headaches. If I had my first choice it would be a good quality MSP, but I don't want to hunt for a used one, and the new ones look like junk for the most part.So considering a PCP. If you had to pick a starter PCP rifle or carbine, and knew you were going to be limited to a hand pump, what would you pick?I like the looks of the Woods Walker, or Fortitude.
Look at the Umarex Origin.https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/umarex-origin-pcp-air-rifle-review-summary-and-conclusions/
How is hand pumping the Fortitude?
Fortitude is a good gun. Its reliable it seems, ive messed with a few of them. Some things to note though that may or may not be of importance to you.The fortitude trigger is not great. Its heavy, long and breaks however. It is also not super powerful, but in 22 you can get around 20 ft lbs out of it for 50+ shotsStock is plastic and nothing special. On the positives, its easy to handpump, very quiet, very accurate and light weight.
At that power level...good choice, one I would have made if there weren;'t a "snot load" of others already at hand.Never tired to put a Disco stock on a Fortitude...suspect it's where the gauge hole lines up, but the rest of it seems almost drop in....would look to someone who's done it. Never been thrilled with the "fish belly" shape ( forend dropping down) of the wood Disco. MAxi/Fortitude always had cleaner outline....but plastic vs. wood....something organically nice about cheeking up to wood in winter's cold.
