1960's Daisy 25 shot pattern

Hi, I have been shooting my old Daisy pump from about 20 yards.  Most of the hits are within a 4" circle.....is that good or bad?

At 20 yards? That's very good for a Daisy 25! Effective range for a smooth bore BB gun is more like 20 feet. Official target range for BB gun is 5 meter.

I've been shooting at Crossman  25' pistol targets, but from 60'.   They are about 4.25" in diameter.  My Benjamin 130 and 310 are being repaired...........
...I expect them tp be more accurate, especially when I start shooting pellets.  I'm also looking forward to shooting pellets and darts in my basement this winter.

You can expect them to be more accurate with pellets. I shoot a Crosman 760 with BB and pellet in my basement. Pellets are significantly more accurate.

About 75% of my shots with the Daisy 25 are reasonably accurate from 60'.  That's the percentage I can get into a 4.25" circle.  I don't understand that
25% that have a mind of their own!  I'm using a front support and 4X15 Daisy scope.  Do my results seem normal?

I also shoot at Aluminum cans from 60 with my Daisy 25.  I hit about 75%, but it seems like I should be hitting a higher percentage!

4 fer 5 in a 4" circle and a soda can won't be standing.
I don't think theres a bb gun around that I'd expect to hit plastic soldiers every time at 20yds, so personally I'd be perfectly happy with those results.

Your question answered it by itself..
Rifles shoot groups.
Shotguns shoot patterns.
This Model 25 will stack them at 10-15 yards all day..

Frank, thanks for the education!  When you say stack them, how tight of group are you talking about from 15 yards?

Lass than a dime.
Now the 499 is the real shooter.
If you have a 4H or JC BB gun shoot in your area you should try and go.
Those kids will embarrass you.
