my airforce condor .25 cal showed up today. wahoo. not sure where my top hats for the spinlock valve that i ordered as well are yet. had a set of hawke medium mounts and put my mountmaster 4-12x50 on for the moment. but i've run out of up elevation it the scope. how to solve this? when i had this on my gauntlet i had fx no limits to deal with this issue. looks like i may need another set.

i got some sort of moderator on mine. got it off agn. the individual wasn't sure what make it was. but its about 14" long and does have baffles in it. currently my speeds are all over the place. was hoping i could use it for my cast slugs, but the verdict is still out as scope mounting is the issue and need to order mounts and new scope for it.
i know i was seeing high 900's turned all the way down with my 37 grain slugs and well above pellets speed for my 27.2 grainers. see a few at 1000 fps plus on the lowest setting.

just heard from my dealer and my top hat kit is on its way. it got sent to him instead of me in with the condor.

Anyone got an ideas on a drooper mount for a reasonable price. hate to have to spend another $70 for a new set of FX no limit 1" rings. granted they're great mounts, but man the price. LOL. by the way things line up with medium rings, i don't think i'd like it to go much higher than the FX height wise. may have to see if my gauntlet truly needs the no limits.

 That seems strange  from my experience these should have no issues out to 75 + yards with factory rail. Might want to check out how the barrel was installed, or  Then again I may have to check mine out, I may have installed an adjustable compensating mount on mine from the get go, and totaly forgot I did it as I was going for a long range slug shooter

Hmmm. Gonna have to check things out more closely and thoroughly then. I hope I'm not clipping the end of the ldc I put on it. I was seeing some spiraling with my cast and unsized NOE slugs. I did give the ldc a quick look and I don't see any evidence of clipping. May have to swap the mounts around as well and retest. I know it could also be the scope. I had just recently pulled it from my gauntlet, it was getting a little loopy. I know I researched and read a lot on the condors before getting  one, and it seemed that only people going long range were using elevation compensating mounts.

so i put a shim under the rear scope ring. got much better now. did some chrony work. this thing is a monster. I need heavier lead to tame this thing.
i got 35 shots with a 2800 fill pressure.
power at 5 for 5 shots
power at 4.8 (4-1/2) for 5 shots
power at 4 for 5 shots
2450 psi power 3 for 5 shots
2400 psi power 2 for 5 shots
the power at 1 for the last 10 shots
950 avverage
112 es
sd 28
59 FPE average with 27.2 gr NOE hunter pellets.
trying to come up with a power to air pressure map to kinda self regulate the power of this beast to keep pellets in a usable range. Of course this will change once the top hat kit arrives and i can drop in a smaller hat.

 For the time being you can slip an o-ring on the top hat it helps flatten the shot curve, also finding the happy spot with one spring setting and lower fill pressure say start at 2500 psi and see if it gives you 25 or the like consistent shots from there.

thanks. I'll give it a try. I just cast a batch of my 29.2 gr pellets last night to try in the condor. The way it is currently, it definitely wants the heavy lead.

Oh so much tamer with the oring. doing that made we look at the top hat location. It was way too far our from the factory. I couldn't even get the bolt to fully latch in place sideways with the oring in place. Adjusted it fully back and things line up so much better. have to put some lead over the chrony and see if that helped flatten it out and see where it likes to be comfortable at.

yeah.. one would think that things like the top hat to breech would be setup from the factory to be the way they should. But apparently that was not the case. Hoping it didn't hurt anything by not having the bolt go all the way over when firing. I did notice that the delrin breech did pick up a pretty nasty gouge showing in it. With the oring in place i had to bottom the top hat all the way in towards the bottle to get the proper setting. And it won't hurt to change to a smaller top hat once my kit gets here. This thing is just wide open and wasting a ton of air. Sounds like a shotgun goin off when i take my moderator off it.

new top hats arrived. put on the .166 cap. filled to 2600 psi. speed in the 650's hmm. fill again after shooting it down. filled to 2400 psi. speed still on the low side. turn up to 7 on power wheel and now in the  mid 800's. better. tring to get that first shot after fill to be right in the sweet spot, and not have to mess with the power wheel as it comes down in pressure.
To me it seems that is a very narrow range from 2400 psi to 2150 psi that'll give a decent and consistent shot string leaving the power wheel set. but that will give me around 20-25 shots i think. I forgot to track the shot count as i found the window i want to be in..
Makes me really want to find an adjustable regulator to make it more stable and increase the shot count. LOL
After only having a regulated gun, the unregulated Condor is being a challenge to dial in.

I got a rubber washer fitted under my tophat now, it is around .075" in height. running the .145" cap. power wheel up around 10. and getting 860 fps average. I think I'm finally getting a handle on the beast. Shot count is good and accuracy isn't bad. Its super windy today so I'm sure I can get the accuracy dialed in better. but I can consistently hit a 6 inch spinner at 43 yards with no issues(under 1 inch group).
Kinda crazy that I needed to strangle this monster considerably to get it calmed down. But that is a good thing. Just means that is has plenty in reserve if its needed.
I got a brass boat tail mold coming from NOE to try them out in the condor. Now that I got it tamed a touch, I may try some of my NOE 250-39-rf-e6 slugs and see if they are more consistent in it now. I know the boat tails should be a better match given the condor has a choked barrel.

Dan, my Condor does quite well with slugs. Currently shooting 34.7 gn NSA slugs @ 915 fps, but can dial it up to 1000 fps quickly if necessary. I have the RingLock kit and a carbon fiber tank on mine, makes for a great light weight, powerful hunter.
