here it is:
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/leapers-5th-gen-4x32-ao-bug-buster-scope-illuminated-mil-dot-reticle-1?a=502
what do you think? contemplating using it on a B30 from time to time in between bouts of open-sight-itis.

its a good scope as long as you dont want to be real precise at 20+yds. its a hunting scope and with the thick cross hairs it sometimes covers smaller targets. and as short as it is, your going to have a heck of a time getting it close enough to your eye comfortably. even with the offset mount i really dont think it would work out to well being that the 30 has such a long length of pull. you would be much better off with a full size scope. just my 2 cents cause i used to have one of them.

hi Tom,
thanks for chiming in. I think I've read somewhere the same thing you're telling me about this scope. Good thing you were around to remind me. Thanks! But I am a bit wary of putting a full-sized scope on the -30. I'm trying to keep the weight down as much as I can. I'll keep looking.
thanks again,

Tom,
I just ordered the 3x9x32AO BugBuster before I saw your post. Great Minds think alike. BTW, I'm getting good with the B30 using open sights. Groups are getting tighter. The rifle moves nicely from a bench rest. Very Smooth. I'll try some free style later.

i absolutly love my 6x32 bug buster. just enough mag for good headshots at reasonable ranges. enough eye releaf for me, and its light enough to not weigh down my CFX royal.

Tom.
I ordered the scope from TopAirGuns. Shipping wasn't free.
But it was only 4 dollars to have the 3x9 variable magnification feature versus the cost of the 6x32mm version . I call it a wash.
Hey 454-BBC, what rifle do you have that Bug Buster mounted on? I like that the scope is both compact and light. Plus it has parallax adjustment from 3 feet to infinity. That way I can shoot my foot off while in clear focus!

Yeah, that even sounds a bit sick to me! LOL!!!
I hope I won't need some sort of offset mount for the little scope. I'll find out.

BBC,
I'm stepping in a new direction for me in ordering the short, light weight scope. 9x should be good for my shooting environs (until the next SW-Ohio Shooting meet).
I trust you've had no issues with your Bug Buster, BBC? Oh, I've got a 4x16AO on my Chinese Beeman. The heft is considerable. Free style shooting becomes a limited duration experience, and makes a bench rest look soooooo goood!

TopAirguns is back-ordering the Bug, so I cancelled the order, and went to Optics Planet. Free shipping and a good price on the 3x9x32 Bug Buster. It should be here Monday. Thanks to all for your input. I feel I've made a good decision.
I'll evaluate it at 6x and maybe order the fixed 6x version. BTW Pyramid Air is showing it won't be replenished with the Bug until October. Optics Planet only had four left when I ordered mine.

I have met the enemy (of the Bug Buster) and he is the Beast! The Beast is, of course, my new TF-87/.22. It totally shook off that offset scope mount. I mean the thing was sliding along as if on waxed skis. I had taken off the scope stop that came with the -87 because it ate up an inch of eye relief; that with a scope that requires an offset scope mount because it has a 3 inch eye relief. So I put the scope stop back on, then tried it out. OK. It holds. But the eye relief can only be regained by me craning my neck forward, and pulling the rifle tightly into my shoulder. Not too good.
Well, Atchman2 suggested I call Compasseco and speak to a gunsmith about maybe drilling a hole to insert an appropriate screw/bolt for use as a scope stop.I do, and I find out that people have been suggesting that to Compasseco already. It seems that there is room behind the trigger assembly to drill freely. I should measure 1 inch from the back of the receiver, drill a hole then use a self-tapping screw/bolt. I think I'll try to use the screw(s) in the offset mount I bought from Optics Planet,. It has two stop screws in it's base. I'm wondering if I can get away with drilling two holes so I can run them both down. I'll take one hole if that's all I can get away with, but I want to regain that lost inch of eye relief. The difference is a matter of shooting comfort. The Beast is a heavy dickens, so a light weight scope is needed, especially if I'm going to try to heft that thing for free style shooting. I have glimpsed the potential accuracy of the rifle with both open sights and a scope. Maybe I'll use the scope for bench rest shooting and open sights for free style.
What do you guys do with heavy rifles?
