Hi, I have a flat top grooved receiver Sheridan, I have .20 cal. premiers and there to big to even be chambered, I'd like to know if anyone has actual experience with what current pellet will fit this model. Pellet prices are to high to just buy some and hope they fit. Thanks James

Our pellet choices are a bit limited compared to others.
Those should be fine ... Maybe.
It could be the wrong lid on some .22 pellets.
Do you know anyone with a set of "dial calipers" to verify the head size of your pellets?
They should be ~0.200" or just a bit under.
Cheers,

I would be willing to bet your are using 22 cal pellets..............
You can also compare against a "known" 22 cal size pellet, then you know for sure, or
a 7/32" drill bit is .2188" in diameter, you can check that size against the pellet you have.
I have just done the same thing, grabbed a can of pellets and my Crosman 150 pistol 22 cal,
went to shooting the pistol, missed several HS and when I got to checking,
(I thought the report sounded louder than normal), and found I was using 20 cal Crosmans, instead of 22 cal
Now, I have the cans marked...................

Not sure if Crosman ever did fix the 5mm brown boxes....they were always marked wrong so far as I know.
All read: 625 Domed 14.3gr 20 cal(5.5mm)
Wait....what....both .20 cal. and 5.5 marked?...makes you want to say,"You had ONE job....."
(If anyone has a brown box of 5mm CP's,take it out and read it...if they ever fixed that, let me know.)
Anyway, aren't that many 5mm pellets still being produced.....am also thinking it'spossible you've got .22's that you're trying to get into a .20. I've done it by getting the wrong pellet tin top on.
That even cost me an new LDC when a 5mm pellet wandered down a .22 bore partly sideways....with enough power to smack the bejesus out of the baffles.

Like others have said, it sounds like you have the wrong size pellets . While there are not a lot of choices in .20/5mm pellets, the good thing is that they all shoot well. The inherent accuracy of Sheridan air rifles, helps to make good accuracy easy to achieve ! The Benjamin/ Sheridan are the least accurate in my opinion, but I have been putting meat on the table with those for over 60 years. They still have the best penetration. JSB offers 2 different pellet weights , & I like the Diabolo Exact 13.73 the best & view these as the most accurate. YES, you will have to order those online, but where I live, ordering is the only way to get any decent quality pellets in any size.
