They also have bigger wind resistance
Duke,Perhaps once you start filing, you can use the time tested smoke method for identifying high spots to preferentially file those? See this video: You could also use a black Sharpie pen instead of smoke.
OK, major setback. The replacement barrel doesn't fit the 350 Mag, after all. Properly assembled and locked, the breech and the barrel sit at a pronounced downward angle. It's like the breech block is a half-millimeter or so too long, preventing the breech and barrel from reaching level.I contacted Mike and explained the situation, and he IMMEDIATELY returned the 144 USD. He then proceeded to explain two ways to deal with correcting the barrel. He's a stand up guy that I will be happy to do business with again. Now I'm facing the semi-daunting task of filing the breech block end down to fit the 350 Mag receiver. I'm an experienced woodworker, less so with precision metalwork. Now that the financial strain of an expensive, defective barrel is off me, I'll breathe more freely, taking my time to not screw things up.
I have a suggestion u might try, try removing the new cocking arm and using the old arm that came on the rifle! and see if that doesn't change things?
Hmm...i may try this on my crosman g1 extreme...i have a similar issue with it. With a droop compensating scope mount i am still maxed out to get it close to sighted in

Then your barrel will be sloppy when closed, and leak at the breech seal. Also, if you cut away the cone at the rear of the bore, that will need to be restored. So, proceed with caution. In terms of difficulty and risk, bending your barrel up slightly is the usual rout. In Duke's case, his breechblock is clearly not "home". So barrel bending won't solve his problem.
My crosman looks just like this when in lockup, very clear that the breech block is not in line with the chamber tube. The barrel is so "dang" accurate with 8.44 g jsb exacts that i didnt wanna mess with it but i got sick of having to shim the *(&^ out of the rear scope ring to sight it in
