Diana 34 scope mount T-05 verses T-06

Hi guys, I have a question about scope mounts for my Diana 34, it's an older model with the T-05 trigger, I know that Leapers used to make a mount specifically for the T-05 equipped models but they have discontinued them, so I ordered one of their Droop Compensation mounts made for the T-06 triggers thinking they would retrofit onto the earlier T-05 models. As long as the scope stop spacing is the same I see no reason why it wouldn't work, the only issue being a little hangover due to the fact that the newer factory bases are longer. However a concern of mine is that because the mount is longer it might over droop compensate and I might not have enough scope tube length to mitigate this by moving the scope rings. I hope I'm wrong about that, but in the event that the T-06 mount won't work on my rifle I am in desperate need of the old scope mount. I am still holding out that this new mount will retrofit but if not it would be great if one of you guys can give me a source that still has the T-05 version. I feel like an idiot for not researching this before I ordered the new type mount and feel even more like an idiot for not checking this out before I used this exact same base to mount the scope on my Diana 350     Thanks for your help fellas!

I would not worry about "over droop compensation".   Worry about whether it fits or not....

I use the Leapers DNT06 droop compensation mount on my D34 which also has a T05 trigger. It works fine and does what it is supposed to do. Like Yogi said as long as your scope fits you should be good to go.

Unless I am unaware of something I don't see what the trigger has to do with choosing the scope mount. The mount just needs to fit the rail and the rings need to be able to space properly to fit the scope. The trigger doesn't have any effect.

Just make sure that your D34 does in fact need droop compensation. Mine did. Not all do but a lot of D34's do.

My T01 Diana 34 has a Hawke mount which was made for the T01 and T05 rifles.  Check with Hawke, it may still be available.  It is unique in that you adjust the amount of vertical compensation.  Mine is set for none as my 34 has no droop.

The differences between the T06 rail and the T05/T01 rail are that the T06 is longer, and has 4 stop positions (2 holes, 2 dimples), whereas the older rail has only the dimples.
So, stop-pin wise there should be no problem.
The LENGTH of the rail does not matter because the droop is measured as an ANGLE (Leapers uses a peculiar system of inches at 30 yards, but that is unique to them and in reality it MEANS an ANGLE.
Once an angle has been defined the length of the sides does not matter.

Wait till you get it, then check it.

AaMoF Leapers makes THREE different angles in the droop compensator rails. So, in case this particular rail does not solve the problem (if you have one), then call the company that sold the rail to you and ask what other Leapers rails they have and what are their droops.

85% chance that you are good. Wait and TEST. it's the only way.

Thanks for all of the replies fellas, I think Hector answered my question and I believe the mount will work fine. My rifle definitely needs the droop compensation mount. As an experiment  I mounted a scope on the rifle using a standard Leapers base that my buddy let me borrow and it was shooting 8 inches low at 20 feet As a side note I purchased two of the Leapers UTG 4x32 A/O scopes and the one I have mounted on my 350 is very clear and is holding its zero after several shooting sessions. These scopes seem quite solidly built and are very reasonably priced, I paid $38.00 for one of them at Optics Planet.  I'm not a big fan of variable power scopes and 4X is more than enough magnification for the ranges I plan on shooting. In addition to this I believe fixed power scopes are inherently more durable due to their fewer moving parts.

You are absolutely right, Wes.
Smaller, lighter, scopes; with less parts are MUCH MORE durable than the larger scopes.

The ONLY problem is that as you realize how ACCURATE an airgun can be, you will want more magnification. This will come in time. No hurries.
IMHO, the ideal airgun scope for general purposes would be a 2-8X40 fixed parallax (30-35 yards) FFP with mil-dots.
That would cover 90% of all airgun shooting for 90% of the shooters.
The rest of the shooting activities are so specialized as to require completely different scopes, with AO/SF and more magnification.
