PP700 and moderators

Are there any moderators available that pair with the usage of the open sights ?

It would have to a VERY skinny LDC to use the factory sights.

Looks like whatever LDC you put on would need to be 7/8" or skinnier to be able to see the issue sights.
Would lead to it being longer to be as effeictive as a fatter LDC....but it can work.

I asked because I am thinking of making an offset 35mm moderator for my 2240 and PP750 with indexing washers for alignment.  We'll see how it works since the 1/2-20 threads will be different than typical indexing on an AR with 1/2-28, but I'm hoping an additional washer here or there will work itself out.  Slammed with actual work lately keeping me from anything fun, but when I finish it I'll let you know how it works.

No reason off-set won't work….or a rectangular one...just harder to make.

Not my favorite iron sights...would probably mount a taller set of adjustable sights and go ahead and use a fatter round LDC.

Played around a little last night and ended up with this...  I want to change a few support designs to be optimized for the angular baffle structure caused by being offset from the center, but its a promising start...

If you're talking about the S-A version, then I modelled and 3D printed out a moderator that works well for me (despite being a terrible inner design)!
It's skinny, but has the cylinder at the bottom to make up for it, and to follow the shape of the rest of the pistol. Also provides a slideable dust cover for the fill port.
And it doesn't get in the way of the sights at all!

Now, where I am, there's a 10J limit, so I'm not sure how well it will work on full power versions, but for me I got:
unsilenced: ~108 dB
silenced: ~93 dB

The rules say I can't tell you how to make one, but my nickname is dirkderkdurk on MyMiniFactory if you're interested.

While I can't comment on effectiveness, I gotta say that looks really cool!

Forgot to mention that there's a similar slant at the rear of the moderator, so that there's a gap you can see the air gauge through.

And yeah, this was my first attempt, I could certainly do a lot better with it.

I like offset moderators. Not just the cool look, but the engineering that must go on inside to make the baffles effective...
