Big difference in start fill pressure.
the same issue he had... the tube orings. I took the tubes off and sure enough, the orings were hard and deformed.
My Avenger finally sprung a leak. I tried to order the complete rebuild kit from PA but they are out of stock and no expected eta posted. Matter of fact, I contacted them hoping for some good news but they didn't have an answer. So I ordered the oring kit from the Captain.I watched the video from Rick and hoped it is the same issue he had... the tube orings. I took the tubes off and sure enough, the orings were hard and deformed. I tried to match them best I could with what I had but no joy.I can't confirm these orings are the issue. The kit is out for delivery this morning and I've cleared my busy agenda to devote my attention to this task... ok, that's kind of a stretch. But I do plan on replacing every oring in the gun and hold on to hope that it's not the known poppet issue or the regulator. If it is I may have to reach out to other potential resources.. if there are any.I'll update later.

Surface cracks or did one or more actually break or crumble when removing them? The former is a common aging symptom but the latter is usually due to either heat stress or exposure to an incompatible lubricant.

That would be a 'WOO HOO' moment!
Just for gits and shiggles I replaced the 2 orings on the breech block end of the tubes. Screwed them back on and filled the gun to 4k with the YH. I couldn't hear any leaking so I let the gun sit for a couple hours. Still sitting right at 4k. I suppose it does help to use the right size orings. I know I said I was going to replace them all but after the fiasco with forgetting to open the damper on the stove and coming home from the store with a smoke filled shop I took the easy route. At least I have the rest of the kit if another one fails.
Thanks Keith.. I had planned to run it through the paces today to test the reseal but that dang stove and the frozen pipes got in the way. Now it will need to wait another couple days while I deal with this stuff and the temps come back up. Then the weekend will most likely be busy helping get ready for Killer's thing at the barn.

Then the weekend will most likely be busy helping get ready for Killer's thing at the barn.I didn't really say that you leaving your damper closed in the shop triggered my brain about my ash pale I left in my shed on wood. All was well. The bottom of the pale was just warm, but you probably figured that out. Yes, the snow is too deep to run around outside to shoot in. Plus, the cold makes for miserable shooting fun. It won't last but another day or two and then we will be back in the 60's. I don't think you are too far from me.
I moved from Nashville to Pensacola and thought I was done with the snow. That's what I get for thinking or not thinking.
Betty Lou turned on the green light for buying a new gun.. budget $300 max.But I've been exploring options and I don't think any of the current offerings would give me anything I don't already have. At least nothing exciting enough to drop $300 on.Something I have been looking at though is the Buck Rail conversion kit for the AV Venturi. Ok, y'all heard me say many many times that I'm not a tactical gun kinda guy.. but I gotta admit.. the NOTOS has really brought some change to my sweet tooth.I can buy this kit and still have money in the kitty. Think I'll let this simmer a bit longer before I pull that trigger. It ain't like it's an invasive upgrade. It can be reversed.
