Pretty stoked about how well it shoots my cast pellets. That saves a bunch of money.

I sneaked back out to the shop... ok, I'm lyin'. Betty Lou saw that my mind was drifting and it had nothing to do with paint so she released me.
I loaded the mags back up and refilled the gun.
I put 1/2 turn more into the HS and went for it.
On this run I got 2 more shots before I felt it was off the reg going by the gauges. But it's a better looking string with a tighter ES.
Accuracy either tightened up or I paid more attention to aim... most likely the latter.

I know there are many of you out there who tune for more power because you use your guns for distance or hunting.
I don't do either so I have a different goal.
My first objective is accuracy out to my 45yd max range. My next goal is shot count.
I think if I focus on accuracy I can do 1/2" groups at my max range and I can run 5 12 round mags (56 shots) without coming off the reg. Or I can lower that fill pressure a bit and maybe drop a couple points off the ES. That would also put a little less stress on parts and the compressor.

I could also tighten the tolerance on my cast pellet sorting. Or, just get better at pouring lead..   

I know Brother Wayne (R.I.P.) perfected his pressure pour technique. I just can't get the hang of it. I can't get the coordination with this fake azz shoulder.
Maybe I should work on that some.. not like I got a job to go to or anything.

Also another idea given your priorities, I think on my .25 I tuned it to the low 700s, like 700 to 720 fps, with a lot of shots and lower report by finding a balance point between a light hammer strike and something like 1300 or 1400 reg setting shooting ftts, which were available less expensively (but nothing like your low casting costs, no comparison there).

Bill, if you put in 180cc as your reservoir cc and 30cc as your reg cc you will then be able to see your efficiency number.  An efficiency under two would be good to see.  Around one would be even better.  The efficiency formula calculation that takes place in the background is around 130 characters long and takes those numbers and the shot count into consideration to come up with the gun's efficiency.  I am guessing at the regulator cc, but I know I am really close at 30cc.

That's the downside of a high shot count gun... running strings is quite lead thirsty.

 I run short strings 5 shots or so, just tweaking the ES as it reads out, to fine tune things then a final long one to get the new TTL shot count.

Yes, but the pellet weight is not entered correctly to show good numbers all around.  The pellet weight should be entered as 27.03.

The pellet weight is actually 27.30. I'll fix that after I eat if it matters.

Bill, I didn't see a decimal, 2703 grains is like .39 pounds, or about 6 ounces per pellet.


I have enjoyed reading about your rifle.

That's kind of apples to oranges for me..
The Avenger has a ton of features such as regged, side lever, external adjustments and capacity/fill pressure among others that the Urban don't have. But the Urban (mine with the Buccaneer wood stock) is just sexy. Love that gun.

Think I'll tighten up the tolerance on this pour I make today.. at least for enough for a string. I'll see if I can narrow it down to 27.30 +- .05 instaed of +- .10 <>.  At least I can eliminate varied pellet weight from being a factor.
On a typical plinking day that don't matter much because accuracy is there. But I want to make sure I don't have regulator issues.

Looking good now.  I say another 1/8 turn on the hammer spring to see if it levels out the ES more.  I would also shoot past the reg setpoint to see if it puts in a small bell curve after the reg that, if tuned to perfection, shouldn't mess with your ES before the setpoint, up to a point.  This would just extend your shot count more is all while keeping the ES the same.
