Mrod mags will not work in the Avenger,too thick same with gauntlet no go.

Watching for results on quieting down some, mine makes a load crack when fired. Don't want to add length but baffles are on the interest list.

Sorry Bro, like I said, I don't plan on changing the baffles on mine. Someone else is welcome to jump in with that info.

Ok, pellet testing phase one.....
I am on the bipod at 35yds. to target. 3900 psi fill and reg at 2900.

The mag is 8 shots and I loaded 4 and 4 each of the tested pellets..... let me just say this about that...
You'll have to do a little thinking here because you can just load and go when using two different pellets.
The first pellet in and the last three pellets in will need to be the same. This is due to the way the mag cycles. If not, your first shot will be one type pellet and your next 4 shots will be the other type. Then your last 3 shots will be the same as the first. Got it?

So.... the target is pictured below..
Reading from left to right and top to bottom....
H&N Barracuda Hunter 27.47gr
H&N Crow Mags 26.24gr
Hatsan Vortex Strike 24.70gr
Hatsan Vortex Supreme 19.91gr
Beeman Kodiak Match 31.02gr
Seneca Hunting Dome 35.8gr

The clear winner of that set is the Hatsan Vortex Strike (top row right).
I fear I'm going to need to clean the barrel.. I noticed quite a bit of smoke coming out from the gunk they ship in these barrels.
I also have some big ole EunJin 44.?? grainers that won't fit in the mags... I'll need to use the SST.
I still have the JSB Kings and some Benjis to try as well.

The next best in that set appear to be the Beeman Kodiaks.... that's a sad state of affairs because those are vintage pellets that I can't find anywhere. When that tin is gone, they are gone...

Just to be fair to Wayne's casted wadcutters (far right target), The gun was off the reg on the last shot of the Benjis (center target). Also, this setting is way too fast for wadcutter accuracy IMO.

Summary on testing.... so far.....

The JSB Diabolo Kings are just that.... Kings. And to answer the question above.... Price and availability.

I'll want to pull just a touch off the hammer spring to reach my goal of 4 mags before coming off the reg and 3900psi fill.

Backed the hammer spring off 1/2 turn and stayed right on the reg at 32 (4 full mags) shots. The chrono will have to tell rest of the story.

Kodiak are just re-branded H&N Baracuda,...you can still buy them if you really want them

Weirdness. I just received an unexpected delivery of four tins of top quality .25 caliber pellets from SteveP! I hope he meant to send them to me, cause I was not anticipating anything like this. A very generous guy. The weirdness is I don't own a .25 but I am thinking about an avenger in .25. Hmmm.
