This may be a good place to make this clear....
You fellas that have subscribed in the hopes that you will see a complete tear down and a 'we can rebuild him, he will be bigger, better, faster and stronger' kinda thing.... don't waste your time... that ain't gonna happen here.

Like I said, if this gun does what I want it to do, I ain't even gonna clean the dang barrel...

What you are about to see here is the performance from a gun right straight out of the box... unless very minor fine tuning is required. That said, from the 2 mags I shot this morning, I don't even feel the need to adjust the trigger. It feels just fine to me.
When it stops doing what I want it to do, I'll decide what steps to take then.... remember.. I'm the guy that sold his Sam Yang Sumatra carbine .25 because it caught a cold (leak). I remember saying that the SY would be buried with me. $:-\$

No more buying guns and then doubling my investment because 'I can' and never getting my money back out of them.

I`ll come along for the ride too, just to see if your experience is the same as mine. I also have a .25 and after a hundred or so rounds am loving it. I adjusted the regulator down to 1900 and backed off the HS to see if I can get more shots from a fill. I also have a bipod to put on it.

I was thinking about that Rick.... I'm not a power monger by any stretch. From what I see right now, I will be able to shoot all 4 of my mags at just about the same time the gun falls off the reg. In my mind, that is the perfect scenario.... shoot 4 mags, fill 4 mag and refill the gun.
This will give me the downrange power (50 ish yds) to handle whatever comes along that does not know how to read the 'No Trespassing' signs. (2 legged critters excluded. I have other plans for them

)

I was hoping to get out this afternoon but it`s been very windy and raining off and on so not the best conditions. I want to see how many mags it will take to run through a fill with the new settings.

I have various pellet types and weights to test. I hope to find the heaviest, most accurate, most available and cost efficient as possible. I think I can make most adjustment from there with just the hammer spring adjuster.
So, the goal....
Max fill = 3800 - 3900
Reg = 2900
32 shots within 50 yds.

Let the bodies hit the floor !!!

Baby steps..
I got home from work, petted Betty Lou on the head and kissed Rambo on the cheek..... no wait... that didn't happen because I asked Betty Lou to help me move my bench back to 35yds. and she did. $:-\$

I checked the gauge on the gun and it was right where i left it after the 2 mags I shot this morning. I loaded up 2 more mags and shot them off. I looked at the fill gauge and it matched the reg gauge perfectly..... maybe 1 shot off the reg. Really impressed with the groups from 3 different pellets so far but I'll get into that phase a bit later in the thread.

I brought the gun in and connected the Vevor compressor. I didn't time it (this thread ain't about the compressor) but, I estimate it was just under a minute to fill back to 3900 ish psi. The temp on the compressor read 135F.

So, I may just make a minor hammer spring adjustment to make up that one shot off the reg..... or not. This is a brand new gun, it may settle in and go one way or the other.

As for the trigger...
I can always tell when I don't like a trigger. It distracts me from my aim. My mind goes straight to that trigger every shot. That didn't happen... matter of fact, I honestly can't remember how the trigger felt. That tells the story right there... if it ain't broke... well, you know the rest. In my experience.. triggers only get better as time passes.
So far, I can't find a dang thing to complain about. Well maybe except for.... IT's HOT OUT THERE !!

It's getting close to decision time....
Do I wipe Linux off my laptop and run install Windows, run a dual boot or buy another laptop just for linking my ProChrono Digital usb software on. It won't run on Linux and Wine didn't work either.

Why not load windows on a virtual machine and then you don't have to mess with any of that?

If this thing will do 4 mags before dropping off of the reg, I'm not going to touch a thing. I'll leave the reg set at 2900 and fill to 3800. Again, my max range will be 45 to 50 yds. My covered shooting range is about 35yds. max.

Rule 4 in the classifieds says posts are limited to airguns and airgun related accessories. A laptop dedicated for my chrono should be an accessory, right?

The other option might be to look into a used tablet that runs windows like my Samsung, or an Ipad. I have an old Ipad I use with my Caldwell.

Bill I'm still using my F1 a pen and piece of paper

I do need a couple more magazines for mine, I did check Buds Gun shop but they don't have anything. I remember when I got my Liberty you recommended them but that was quite some time back. If I remember correctly they were only about $6.50 each.

I bought mine at PA because they stated they were specifically for the Aspen and Avenger. I didn't want to take a chance if they were different.
If I'm not mistaken, the others are made by Umarex.

I thought I had .25 MRod mags around here but I guess I was mistaken so I can't compare or test them in the Avenger. They do look the same when comparing pictures of them. I thought I read somewhere that the slot was different. I think I read that the new ones would work on the older guns but the older ones don't work on the newer guns. I could be wrong.
Pretty sure one or two of the new Avenger owners have some .25 MRod mags that they could try and report back.

Meanwhile.....
I spent a vacation day from work today. There seems to be a small lull in the madness and I figured it may be a good time to take advantage and grab a 3 day weekend. I will do my supervisor job via the telephone today and tomorrow.
Today's plan... pellet testing for accuracy.
I'll print up some targets and load up some mags with various types and weights. The gauge on the gun is sitting exactly at 3900 psi where I left it last night. The reg is still set at 2900.
Testing range will be at 35yds.
Temps are expected to be in the upper 80's today so hopefully I'll be able to spend alot of time outside.
