Figured I'd begin my own thread with my personal experience with this new entry level PCP so as not to step on toes of others and their reviews.
I stated 'entry level' because at $300 that exactly what it is. But that price is the only thing 'entry level' about this gun. Everything else is above and beyond what you would expect for $300.

Spare mags are around $11 ea. and I ordered 2 to add to the 2 that were included with the gun.

Packaging from AV and R&L was great. The gun is in a plastic bag and set into a form fitted insert in the box. Spare mags and an Allen wrench were also taped into their respective compartment. Nothing rolling around or sticking out through the side of the box. The the whole thing was double boxed with bubble pack to keep the inner box in place.

Thanks guys.. I started this thread this morning before work while having my coffee. I only had time to shoot a couple mags through the gun and get the scope sighted in at a mere 21yds. I was shooting the H&N Crow Mag 26 grainers. I was absolutely amazed at what I saw. I am really looking forward to seeing what this gun can do.
I haven't touched 1 single adjustment screw since I took the gun out of the box. After 4 shots to sight it in I thought something was wrong because I didn't see my pellets hitting the target any more.... after closer inspection I found out why. The pellets were going into the exact same hole....

If this thing will do 4 mags before dropping off of the reg, I'm not going to touch a thing. I'll leave the reg set at 2900 and fill to 3800. Again, my max range will be 45 to 50 yds. My covered shooting range is about 35yds. max.

Congrats, Bill, on your new Avenger .25 cal.

I look forward to hearing all about this gun. Since I have lower back issues, I can't see me ever getting a pump for a PCP; but, hey, I can dream or even enjoy the fun that you and others are having.

Archie.... I've been filling my PCP guns for 2 years or so with a $200 Vevor (Yong Heng knockoff) compressor. I use a large Folgers coffee container as a water supply. If the water starts getting a bit warm, I just dump it in the sink and fill it back up. I filled that gun last night from 2900 psi to just under 4k in just over a minute and the temp got to 145F. It began at an ambient 85F.

This seems to be one of those few times where the actual product lives up to the pre production hype. I really enjoy mine, it has taken over as my No. 1 truck gun currently.

There are a couple of things I'm waiting to hear from those that have Avengers, are the mags for these holding up better (spring wire) than the mags that came with the Nova Liberty, and do the better mags for the Gauntlet also fit the Avenger? Both of my Liberty mags had to have the spring wire glued into the hole or they would pop loose and not feed correctly, have had Zero issues with the Gauntlet mags feeding properly. If I sell my Discovery to a friend from work I"m still considering one of these for my collection.

You said it brother!!! I have the .22 and I really like it. I think " like " is an understatement! I was going to get a higher end .25 but now i'm not to sure. I think I'll wait and see how the .22 holds up over the next few months. If it dose, cant see me spending $1000 plus when I can just get another avenger in .25!!!

I'll have to let you know later on that.... I've only shot 2 of my mags one time each. The other 2 are still in the bags they came in. If you look at the link above see that PA says they fit the Aspen and the Avenger. They do claim they are reverse compatible which I take as they will fit the same in guns that take the MRod mags. However, you'll notice that the slot on the clear plastic cover on these mags is oblong in shape. I don't think the older mags will work in the Avenger.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong'

Scratch that..... I just looked up the Marauder mags and they look the same.

It's certainly not a deal-breaker, I was planning to buy a 25cal anyway and all my gauntlet mags are 22cal for my Liberty anyway. I was just remembering all the posts from Liberty owners who had issues with the springs popping loose and was wondering if they had corrected that issue. I'm also still waiting for someone to break one down so I can get a good look at the poppet in the valve.

Yeah.... that won't be me.... I don't care what it looks like, as long as it works. When it quits working it will be sent in for warranty, sent to a tuner to fix or sold as parts in the classifieds...

Life is too short and I only have enough hair to last the rest of my life. I'm not going to start pulling it out over a $300 airgun... besides, this one should last until the next world's greatest 'entry level" PCP hits the streets.
