Scope for FX Whisper

Looking for scope recomendations for my new FX. Budgets 150.00

I prefer my scopes to not use batteries but will consider one. One I would like to check out is the Hawke Airmax 3x9x40.
Any others you can suggest ? Thanks

Leapers 3-12x44 with the a sidewheel will be about 120,Great scope.

I'd go with a 3-12x44 as well. UTG has a compact 3-12x44 S.W.A.T.  that I have posted about before.  They are heavier than a regular rifle scope though.  However, they are very tough.
Grumpy, with a PCP you can use just about any regular rifle scope; as you have no springer movement.  By going that route, you may be able to get more "bang for your buck".  Check somewhere like OPTICS PLANET for a selection of Rifle Scopes.  Congrats on the new shooter, and best of luck.

The Hawke HD line is nice MIL DOT but does not focus in as close

Ditto on the Leapers. I have two and never had a problem. More features for the price point

For a few dollars more, check out the Hawke Panorama. I have the 4-12x50 on my Indy. The scope is bright, clear and gives you a wider view at your target, making target acquisition easier. The IR comes in handy if you are shooting in low light situations or again a dark background

After trying several scopes up at Jim's place, I bought the UTG 3X9X40 resting on BKL long double strap rings.

I had one of those 3-9x40 was a nice scope.....as long as you remember to turn off the reticule all the time or the batteries will drive you nutz replacing them

I guess you liked it better than the Hawkes?

Now the BKL double strap is overkill on a PCP.

Is it all mounted up???

Did you get the fill probe fitting while there???

I have a couple of the UTG mil dot scopes. I'm having problems getting the POI to agree with the predictions in the ChairGun software.

I think it may have to do with the zoom settings in the software. I don't know the differenceb between the new zoom settings. If you figure it out, let me know.

Meanwhile, I bought a Hawke scope for my incoming Marauder, just so I would know the mil-dots would line up properly in the software.

I have had good results with the predictions in Chairgun and the mil dots on Leapers scopes.  Since there are no detents on most zoom settings some error occurs with repeatability.  I tend to pick a magnification setting when shooting and stay with it.

basically each time you rest the zoom you need to fire at a target and verify the strike

Yup its all mounted up. I know the dbl straps are overkill but they were "B stocks" that where half the cost of singles.

I still do not like batteries in my scopes but when I compared the Hawkes to this one I just liked the UTG better. it focused better up close and the reticle was way more to my liking.

No fill prob yet since I'm strapped for cash but at least I can give you back your rings. Thanks again.

I sorta figured you would go for the ability to focus up close on the Leapers over the Hawkes.
