Hey man are you slipping up? Haven't seen any pictures this week! Has the Mecca of Groundhogs finally ran out of magic?

Sorry to disappoint Randy,
I think I shot too many in the Spring and early summer and didn't spread them out to last until the end of the summer. My block has finally run dry after 94-95 documented Groundhog kills. If there are any out there, they are staying put fattening up for the Fall/winter. There should some movement again in the Spring when they venture out to find a mate.
Jeff usually continues the G-hog tradition well into September. I am looking forward to his pics and stories.
It's time to move on to Squirrels! less than 1 week remaining until the season opens!

Ours starts on Saturday. However, I may be in a crow calling contest instead of squirrels. I'm supposed to go squirrel hunting before Church on Sunday.

Thanks for reminding me. I have to look up the crow season which I think starts 10/1. The crow calling didn't help me much last year. I drew in a few but they kept doing fly-by's trying to locate the source of the sounds, or landed in the neighbors' trees cowing back and then took off. They avoid my property like the plauge since I took a bunch the years before in front of the entire flock who pasted my mug shot in their photographic memory
I think I will supplement the calling this year with some cracked corn on the ground

Looking forward to you squirrel pics Harry. As for the g-hogs, I'll be going after them until the end of September when I switch over to bowhunting deer, so I should have some more DOA g-hog pics to post before the whistle pig season is over. I'm also thinking about taking a ride up to my summer place next week in Delaware county so I can take advantage of the Sept 1st opener of nutter season. Down here we have to wait until November 1st, not exactly sure why but I guess there is a logical reason. Anyway, looking forward to those nutter posts of your.
