Seems they are quite sturdy and might take a bit more performance mods ?I'm not sure what performance parts you're talking about, but I would be very surprised if there are any for these.You'd have to do some decent mods to a 1322 to get this performance , what more would you want in a pistol this size ?
Here's my E series I acquired in a trade. Resealed and hot rodded, I don't think the grips are original to it.

It is all speculation at this point.Looks like a Crosman pistol and was mentioned as .177 in his next post, wouldn't expect Crosman to have put leftover S medallion grips on this pistol but with Crosman you never know I suppose.
I guess it would have to be a transitional gun if it has the Crosman look but Racine production.Based on condition I would think it's original because who would replace wood with plastic unless there was damage, but these plastic ones do seem pretty nice so who knows.I suppose theres no way to really say if they are original.
