Silver Streak Bolt Replacement
«
on:

Have a chance to buy a Silver Streak. It's missing the bolt and associated parts. Cam,cam cover, lug etc. Has hold down safety and appears to have the slim forearm.
Haven't actually seen it yet so not sure of it's age. Did the hold down versions have specific bolt types depending on age?
Here's pictures:

Sorry, I can't answer your bolt question. Your Silver Streak may have the longest, slimmest pump arm I have ever seen. Good luck obtaining the missing parts. It's definitely worthy of restoration.

Not sure on the stock. Photo is from sellers ad. Going to try to see it later today.

The best I can tell from the pictures is that it is early 1950's, due to the knurled rear sight screw, soldered rear sight, etc. I cannot tell if it has a slab stock in the picture, though. It would have the straight bolt handle. That bolt & the missing sight screw will be very hard to find.
If you want to know its value,,, those missing & hard to find parts really hurt it. It is worth what you are willing to pay for it.

It was a Craigslist ad. Went to check it and ad was gone. Then I got sellers email late last night that a friend of his heard about it and grabbed it. Said that he would let me know if status changes.
Not holding out any hope but you never know. Was asking $150. Thought that was high based on condition and parts availability. Never got to see so not sure of details. But if it's a really early fifties then missing out hurts even more.

My guess is that is a 1950 SS 2nd year production model. w/ rear soldered sight , knurled sight knob , front check style sight , no..." Made in USA " stamping on tube and fragile skinny long pump arm .
My 1951 has the bolt pin removal hole in the upper right side of breech , that gun did not .
The stock was too rounded to be a1949 model based on the ones I ve seen.
Thats plenty cheap enough to find another wrecked one and make up a good one. If the pump arm is uncracked , that is worth it alone as many i see have been damaged , replaced with latter , or repaired.
At 70 years of age , you don't see one of these for sale everyday, thats for sure! 👍
Cool find !
