apparently the beeman 1085 is yet another repeater variant of the qb78.[ur]lhttps://hardairmagazine.com/news/new-beeman-model-1085-its-a-qb78-repeater/[/url]
HAve a 1085...don't have a Gauntlet to test the theory.
Antithesis, why can't you get parts from umarex? every time is e-mail them i get prices and a way to get the parts i'm looking for from them. I haven't tried since the Virus ordeal. But i do know that i was looking to get the valve, .22 cal barrel and bolt and there didn't seem to be an issue.
Haven't tired it...have compared it with a standard QB78,and it looks like it would fit but have not actually swapped tubes. So it's just an assumtion at this point.Only problem is the stock. Not only that it's ugly, but the higher breech really makes for nothing to cheek....basically a "chin rest". QB wood stocks will fit (have to deal with the odd barrel band), but the same lack of cheek height.
Working on it...give me a 1/2 hour or so.
i didn't care for how wobbly the cheek riser was on my gauntlet when fully extended so i got a small piece of kydex and custom molded an extension for excellent cheek weld. i use the fx no-limit rings. i attached the kydex to the cheek riser with heavy duty outdoor use velcro.
rear sling stud only locks the wheel in place so it doesn't move. there was still too much wobble for my liking to keep a consistent placement. $10 fix with a small piece of kydex custom molded and velcro. even have enough kydex for another one, as i only used half the sheet i got.
I'll write it up as a separate post....but for now, just the results (no pictures).Realized I didn't need to take apart a functioning QB78 (co2/HPA/PCP) to find out if a 1085 breech would fit....could just see if a junk-box QB78 breech would fit and work on a 1085. If it works one way, would work the other. For sure, can fit a QB 78 breech/bolt system to a Beeman 1085 but you'd have to adapt some parts. How that relates to a Gauntlet (that I don't have), can't tell you.Seperate post to follow.

And having a hard time imagining how to start making what you did, sounds like it took some patience 🤪

I used a piece of 1-1/4" wooden dowel rod(closet rod) as a rounded form for the top rounded edge. then use a saw and sandpaper to follow the same basic lines of the original cheek riser at the bottom edge. tried to keep the kydex wrapped almost completely around so both side touch on the dowel rod. i'll try to get a rear view pic of what the kydex riser looks like.
