Is the Beeman P17 the Daisy 880 of pistols?


They cost about the same within a few dollars.
People do mods on both of them.
Both are reported to be very accurate especially for the price.

There are more threads about these two than just about any other rifle and pistol.

Yes, it would seem so.
I would venture a wager that, if you post a thread asking 'best bang for the buck' in pistol and rifle, these 2 guns will come to the top in each category.
