Scope recommendations - FWB 124

So, I have a 124 that was recently resealed and tuned by John in PA. I finally got ahold of the right 2 pc crosspin mounts (Sportsmatch) and took my vintage Beeman 2-7 AO out of deep storage to make this combo more or less "period correct".
Tried it tonight in my awkward little 9 yard basement range and found 2 things:
1. It LOVES the 9.3 grain RWS Supermag wadcutters. My 5 shot group was well under 1 pellet diameter C-T-C. And I simply can't hold perfectly steady with the basement range. I'm basically just resting my forward hand on a level copper pipe that comes out of my furnace.
2. It has barrel droop. Beyond the scope adjustment range. - I can get it to within 1/4" to 1/2" below point of aim but no closer.
So, I need either a different 1" scope, some kind of shim set up, or a different mount (which I would rather not do) or
If anyone has solved this problem for their own gun, or has some clever idea that may help, I'm asking for a little help. This is the rifle that got me back into airgunning... It gets whatever it needs.

Two things cause droop in 124s.
1) Breech seal orings too thick or installed incorrectly
2) Lockup geometry. Look at the bottom of the breech block where it bottoms out against the ball detent tooth on the receiver. You can file this part down a bit and it will bring the barrel up. You will probably also noticed the lockup get tighter when you do it. Fixed forever this way. An easier and quicker method is bending the barrel up a touch. But be warned, you'll have to have a SOLID vise or a press as they are much harder to bend than Weihrauch barrels for whatever reason.
If you want a band aid, a quality adjustable mount would be the way to go. Sportsmatch makes a good two piece, and BKL makes a good one piece.
Look up Paul Watts on YouTube. He posted a very good video on the 124 a day or two ago. I've fixed a couple this way a few years back.

A few junky old spring powered Weihrauchs, couple of precharged Weihrauchs, a couple beat up old FWBs, a smoothbore Krico, an electric Daystate and an Ataman pistol..And drawers full of pieces of all of the above...

I have a 124D and it has significant droop, I have the UTG one peace drooper mount and that helps, still not enough so I resorted to bending the barrel to bring the POI very close to the POA, I am now at 2 clicks of up with the drooper mount at 30 yards.
If you look carefully you will see that the barrel does not line up with the top of the receiver, built in droop.
I tried a couple of the adjustable mounts but they did not hold Zero
The 124 did shoot several UTG's loose, I now have a Hawk airmax
With the one peace mount I have not needed the cross pins, If not tightened correctly the pins will damage the receiver
The Diana Zero Recoil mount also has droop compensation built in and it will protect your scope from recoil damage.
The 124 is a great shooter, It is also hold sensitive so learn the artillery hold

Thanks Dennis. Mine isn't as droopy as yours so imshould be able to avoid bending the barrel.
Mine doesnt seem to be too hold sensitive.
I was once OK/decent with the artillery hold but didn't shoot airgun for 12 or 15 years and I've completely lost it.
I've mostly been shooting from a weird setup that is more like a field rest than a bench, and with good results.
I've basically worked out a way to combine the advantages of a bench with the artillery hold. And it seems to work well with every rifle I own.
