Time for another airgun

Getting the urge for a new airgun, this time something a lil higher end than the Hatsan AT44 am now shooting. Something accurate with decent shot count out of the box and able to be very backyard friendly. Got it pretty much narrowed down to either the Daystate Regal or the Taipan Veteran Standard. For the longest I didnt care for bullpups at all but have come around to liking them, tho have never shot one. Besides, I cant find much negative about the Veteran no matter how much searching. So is this newer Czech made Veteran as good as the ones manufactured in Ukraine? Any input is much appreciated.

im not very familiar with either of those guns but with your price range and what you want out of it there are A LOT of options. I would recommend something with adjustable power.  I have a AAS510 and it is super accurate and I appreciate that I can turn down the power.  A few other nice things about being able to lower the velocity with a power wheel/selector is; it reduces the risk of pass thru's and or damage, it reduces the report of the rifle, and it allows you to "tune" the rifle easily and it allows you to conserve air and maximize the shot count.

I was getting the same itch for a new gun but to my surprise it seems like Covid has everyone feeling the same way.  A lot of pcp's seem to be on backorder.  Good luck.

Hmm, EdGunWest has the Leshiy 2 in-stock as of this moment.  Expensive, but Oh-My-Gosh, feature rich!

Semi-auto, high efficiency, quiet, powerful, compact, hammerless... 

Yeah, they carry a $2K+ price tag but there's nothing like it.

I would consider the Uragan Compact with a DonnyFL Tanto or Sumo - whichever fits your needs best.

Bullpups are fun as long as they are not heavy.  You should try one.   If you don't like it, you can probably sell it and try something else.

I have the Taipan Veteran Long with the CZ barrel and man, is it ever a shooter!  Built like a tank with a superb trigger, anti double load, regulated, plenty of power, smooth easy side cocking, easily adjustable power, very quiet, I could go on and on. It’s perfect out of the box!  If you’re a tinkerer, this is not the gun for you because there’s nothing to do.

Yes we do.  I order my Leshiy right before New Years and had to wait 2 weeks; still worth it and then some.  I though Brian already had some in as of the 1st, but I was offline a few days.

Regarding bullpups; just about any of the eastern European 'pups are worth the coin spent.  I'm enamored with our Lelya; it is surprisingly light, especially given how feature-rich and robust it is.  My girlfriend was using .25 Hades in it over July 4th weekend to "cut down" some dead tree limbs on some family property in West Virginia.  She was shooting freehand with a 1x reflex sight and chop-chop-chopping at 25 yards.  I've been eyeballing a couple of the recent 'pups listed over at AGN.  IMO, the best path forward is buying a used BP.  You often get a lot for your money and there's a lot of new tech/models coming out, so early adopters are selling off older models like nobody's business.

I just got another message from Brain with a video of the production model but he's saying will not be ready till September or October now.
