AT44 trigger 2154

I was opening my at44 and a part from the trigger group broke off.

Was wondering if anyone knows what is the function of this part? The trigger seems to work without it, though I've already contacted Hatsan USA to see if they can sell me the part.

It is essentially just a trigger weight to smooth out the trigger function I believe.  You don't have to have it, and I've seen a lot of those get broken, fwiw.  Hatsan should be able to take care of you.

Had that same piece break off in my AT P1.
Seems to have a better trigger feel without it.

Thanks, I will leave the trigger without it then. I guess one also has to remove the spring that hold the piece, right?

The equivalent part in the springer Quattro trigger stops the sears from moving if the rifle is dropped or bumped hard and the trigger blade has not moved. A slight movement of the trigger blade pivots the "drop safety" out of the way and allows the sears to move towards firing the rifle. This part is not necessary for the trigger to function.

 I don't know how sensitive the rifle is to bump firing without it. Probably not bad, but their Lawyers would say that even one in a million bump fires would be an expensive litigation.

Ahhhh, the drop safety!  I completely forgot about that    I know the newer guns tend not to have that part on them.
