So today for fun I set my target at 50yrds.Was shooting 50¢ size painted circle's. Shooting off tripod while seated I was getting 3-5 hits in each circle at 50 yrds using jsb Hades pellets.Didnt have to use my mil dots for holdover. Was pleasantly surprised to see my XL doing this with what could be seen as ease. Even went through 1/4" plywood at that distance. Had a pest coon by my front porch tonight and had to dispatch it. 1 body(❤️) shot sent him to the picnic n the sky. I love my XL and think it's a *(&^ of a gun and love it's made here by us in the good ol U. S. A can't say that about slot of things. I also will say if Evey company had the customer support and ease of use as Crosman/Benjamin did the world would be a less stressful place to live. Thanks Crosman/Benjamin.

I have an NP XL which I install the NP bushing and brass washers from the late forum creator Gene. I really did like that gun. Once I got my first German springer though it became a dust collector. I wasn’t aware the XL rifles were made in the USA. They may be now but I know for a fact mine says made in China, granted it’s a 12 or 13 model. They can be very accurate as long as they are held correctly. Mine was annoying over hold sensitive but when I did my part it shot great. Glad to see yours is doing well. They are attractive powerhouses and I killed many squirrels and raccoons with mine when I actually used it. I’m attempting to sell it now so someone else can get use of it. Just not sure I really want to since it has some of Gene’s handiwork in it.

Maybe they have changed but I have compared my Crosman/Remington 725VTR to the Trail NP XL and aside from the stocks and the inclusion of a forward sling swivel, I cannot see any difference at all. And mine says Made In China on it. Does Crosman bring in parts from China and then assemble some of the rifles here? Interesting. I would assume if they were assembled here that the QC might be better?

I do not know for sure but I think I recall my Crosman 140 being $39.xx in 1964. That is nearly $350 today. I would pay that for a USA/or other democracy built rifle if, and a big if, the quality control was consistent and higher.

Glad to hear it shoots good because that bodes well for my 725VTR to continue to be a pleaser.
