Sometimes I hate dealing with foster fitting check valves.....especially when you have a regulated tube gun. They don't fail often, but when they do it is a PITA. Foster failure often results in an in-tube reg moving/damaging orings in the process.
I was filling my regulated Bulldog today and it started hissing out of the foster after disconnecting from the tank....managed to constantly dry fire, until empty, to keep the reg from migrating up the tube. as a last ditch effort put a little silicon grease in the foster and refilled. No dice, psssssssssssss. This time I gave up and didn't try to intervene...
It doesn't matter what version check valve it is, they all fail from time to time. Today's failure is of the captive check valve type. This foster is screwed directly into a 1/8npt hole tapped into the BD end cap so the captive check valve type must be used. This type seems to be a little more sensitive than the non-captive style...
Sorry, just had to go on a quick rant......I feel better now.
