New TX200 Looks Like It Will Be A Shooter.

So as is pretty much everybody in the world I am more or less locked in and since I cannot really scratch my powder burning itch.....I have some funds to go to the air gun obsession.  So like Pac Man Jones in a strip club I made it rain.....at Pyramyd Air. 

I am generally a German guy, more specifically a Weihrauch guy.  I do, however, have an exquisite Pro Sport and have been wanting to try out a TX200 TO THE CREDIT CARD BATMAN!!!. 

Well my package came today, I ordered Monday.  So Pyramyd shipping was blazing fast. 

Out of the box the stock is nice but not quite as nice as my Pro Sport but that one I won the lottery on.  The blueing is exquisite as it is on most Air Arms rifles I have seen and the trigger.....WOW.  I have always said the trigger on my Pro Sport is equal to the Reckord......the trigger on this TX200 is phenomenal out of the box.  So I may have won the trigger lottery on this one. 

At any rate my house was built with an 18-20 yard air gun lane in mind.  So I have a fantastic little indoor range.  After sighting in with some Crosman Premiers I shot the first group with them and for it being the very first group and mean learning a new gun I was very happy.  The next group I shot was with some Air Arms Diabolo's and considering this box is new out of the box and has only about 50 shots down the pipe I do believe she will be a shooter. 

So all in all I have say at least out of the box the TX200 lives up to the hype.  One thing I will say is that it is a bit louder then my Pro Sport, now that very likely is just break in, a tiny bit of dieseling burning off but its worth noting.  One other note regards the little bumper that sits between the barrel and cocking arm.  Everybody says it will fall off.  You know what.....everybody is right.  Probably took like 10 shots before it came off.  I may put some o-rings on the cocking arm but its not a big issue. 

Anyway thought I would take the time to post some out of the box observations on a current AA TX200 build and so far I am very happy.

First group out of the gun.  18-19 yards, rested, scoped(of course).  Stringing a little but very happy.  Put somewhere between 15 and 20 shots here.  Odd shots on the paper are from me sighting.


Second group out of the gun.  18-19 yards, rested, scoped (of course).  The first four shots where in the same hole.  I almost stopped right there.    All in all a great 10 shot group for ME and considering the gun is literally right out of the box, I am thrilled.  Odd shots on the paper are from me sighting.

Very nice. I had the TX in .22 and loved it. Then,.... I got bit by the PCP and never looked back. I sold it. I also had the Walther LGU and believe it or not,... it usually out shot the TX. But,... both were very close in accuracy.

     Gotta love the TX200!!! I have the TXHC200 in both calibers absolutely love both!! I hunt with both of mine quite a bit. I also have the PS in both calibers but when it comes to hunting the TXHC are the best in my opinion. I love my HW guns too but my .22 TXHC is my bunny buster for sure!!! Congratulations with your TX Walnut stock gun! Enjoy her if you drop a kit in her consider the Vortex, all of my Springers are tuned by John in PA with a VORTEX Kit. Great tuner and great kits.

Interesting, I also found my TX200 in .22 to be one of the loudest in my collection. Despite the absence of a shroud on the HW97k and the LGU they seem much quieter. The TX200 I have has the best trigger of them all and the shot cycle feels the fastest with absolutely no twang, but it sounds almost as loud as a Benjamin Discovery. A loud thwap is what it feels and sounds like.
