After snagging a Crosman 600 I've been but by the vintage CO2 bug and now I want a target pistol. There are some Mk1s for sale in the classifieds and an ebay 150 I have my eye on.What are the pros and cons of the 150 compared to the Mk1?Is there a big difference in length, power, shots per cart, or accuracy between the two? What would you chose with a similar budget?I saw a few 252s, but I don't like the 8g carts

I had the same question but went the mk route, gotta get the seal kit installed but if you go this route, vernon austin makes a nice set of grips for it. The plastic ones are a turn off to me. And you can get ambi grips from him so it fits a holster good, I wanted something I could tote in the woods.
Wayne's 150s are what inspired my 2240 stubbies. One in .22 and one in .177.They are not classics so I won't post pics here but if you search Willie G. and Twisted Sister you'll find them.

Plus then I would have to figure out a front sight. A plain Jane 2240 is cheap, and I could add onto it as I go. A aluminum (or steel) breech and a stubby barrel sounds like it would be the same OAL as a 150, but won't have that vintage charm (and I'm sure the 150 has a lot of other differences). By the time I've customized a 2240, I could easily have just bought a Mk1 or 150.

Is there an easy work around for the front sight (maybe just sanding the bottom)? Is Melon still active? Even still, with a 2240 xl or 2240 and an aftermarket metal breech and stubby barrel I'm pretty close to the price of a vintage pistol. However, the 2240 is very easy to mount optics, which is a point worth considering for hunting.Something else I found was Wyo Man's thread on the 25 cal 2240 with a stubby barrel, that I do want to try.So far in my research the Mk1 is reported to be more accurate than the 150, so that might be my second vintage pistol.
I tried to do a snub nose 2240, but mine was just barely accurate enough for cans at 10yds and that's not good enough for me.I know I can do a good barrel crown too, so I know it wasn't that. It's funny that I started with a snub nose barrel in mind and wound up going the opposite direction with a 10" barrel.
I popped of ten quick shots with my 600 early this morning It's holding air indefinitely because I put that cartridge in it a coupledays ago!
Went over my new to me Britannia. Normalize a spring that had a broken end. Didn’t loose much power hitting at 550 FPS which is on the light side of normal 700 FPS. Happy as is given original 110 year old spring. Sighting in went well. Will not be my best target rifle but holding and firing something from 1905 is a bit of a kick all its own.

Mine didn't change weight over night. Hopefully that is still the case after I take a few shots. I got it to not leak from the exhaust valve once, but I foolishly shot it right away. I'm hoping after 24 hours the seals will be swollen with CO2. When my definitely not vintage 2240 shows up I'll send it to Rick.
