50fpe Mini-Rod

I got my Mini-Rod put back together. It’s been so long I forgot how much of a power house this little thing is!! No shot count put plenty of power. Predator Poly Mags 938,942,945,941,936 from a 3k fill. Now where near where I wanted it. I’m looking for 15-18fpe from this thing. So the detuning begins.

Got it tuned for 16fpe. Put a bstaley mod in it, I started with only 1500psi put 15 shots down range & end at around 950psi. Here’s a 23yrd, 3 shot group.

WOW! is that still a Marauder, lol.  Now you say .25 cal conversion, but I see 16 FPE, too.  Also, 25 grain polys.?  I'm old, help me out, lol.

It started life a Marauder Pistol. Now it has a .25 Mrod barrel, 6” tube extension & some valve work. Travis did all the machine work for the barrel, breech & valve.

 I originally set it up to shoot pigs out of my bow stands. That’s why it was making 50fpe. Then life happened & all my air rifles set aside. I’m just now getting them out & going through them.

I de-tuned it to 16fpe for farm work. That way I want have to worry to much about pass throughs on pest in the farm yard.

At one time I built a QB78 Repeater in a very similar format.  Nice lightweight package.   I never really came up with a good use for mine that wasn't already covered by another gun so it didn't stay together long.

16fpe?  is that with 25gr JSB or 19.9gr FTT's?    It would be interesting to try and wring as many <20fpe shots out of that as possible.  As a comparison, I have a huma reg'd QB78 in .22 with similar air storage that does 35 shots just over 30fpe.  Imagine 50+ shots at <20 fpe, that would be pretty cool.

That 16fpe is with Poly Mags. Im trying to dump as much energy as possible on target to cut down in pass throughs. When I get a target in the pasture I’m gonna try it out. I’m good with 15-20 shots due to only having to fill to 1500psi & it’s fairly quite with a moderator. If I had a moderator it would be super quite.
