Heck if I had known about the Military discount at the time I would have gone for that for sure but I wasn't aware of it. I got the deal when they were on sale though for $499 so I'm not complaining. I bought both the F10 and a Cal compressor ultra quiet at the time and with the other hardware I bought the total was about $750. I use that Cal compressor a lot with the air hose, most of the time it's for blowing off hot water on gun parts and molds when I clean them. Usually when I'm blowing a mold dried I immediately start warming it up to cast with.

When I first got my F10 I had a problem with it and emailed Tom right away but by the time I get a phone call from Tom I had the problem fixed, it was a misaligned top cylinder (low pressure) I did replace the o rings in it and it hasn't been apart since, works like a charm, I just make sure everything is lubed good.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. And Frank, I didn't mean to imply that I was an invalid at 70, simply that using the hand pump is a PIA. I'm sure I'm not the fine specimen of manhood that you are but I don't see you using a hand pump either

I still use a hand pump if it's a pcp pistol or something like the Discovery or Varmint but am spoil with my Shobox and tanks now.

As for the compressors, yes a Nomad is another option. Totally forgot about it.

You have that right.
I bought my first Marauder about 9 years ago.
It came with a pump.
I used it for about a month.
It is in like new condition.
I have two tanks and the SB10.
If I didn’t have the compressor, no worries.
My club has one..
BTW: As others here already know. I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes. All diagnosed by the VA as resulting from my exposure in 1968 to Agent Orange. Everyone who served with me during my 22 years are gone. Why am I here? I will enjoy every moment left to me.

It's kind of sounding like my choices may come down to a Hatsan Spark, Warrior, or Benji Traveler (or a shoebox if the price is right). Any experience with any of these? pro or con. From what I've read it sounds like the Hatsan's have good customer service. Anyone?

Paul, I got the Hatsan over the unbranded ones precisely due to the 1 year warranty. I figure if it works well for a year, it’ll likely last fine after that. My other consideration was price—at $400 it was the least expensive compared to the Nomad, Traveler, etc.

First off...Frank. Thank you for your service and I hope the VA is taking care of you. It's an injustice how they treat some of the veterans sometimes. I highly doubt I'll make it to 75; longevity isn't something that runs in my family. So you have the one up on me there.

Next up - BassMan. For simplicity, I'll go out on a limb and say that the three options are probably going to be easiest. I don't have any experience with the Traveler or the Nomad, so hopefully some of the folks who have them can give you a little more in-depth review.

I have a Spark, and it's been doing well, aside from the temp gauge dying. I purchased it as a refurb from Hatsan, and it's been chugging nicely. For the gauge, I'm assuming it's just a matter of the batteries dying out. It fills slow, but I don't find that being too much of a deal breaker; it's capability to run off of a 110v power supply or a 12v car battery make up for that. Also, the added bonus of not having to set up a container of water makes the icing pretty nice. I have a YH that has not seen much usage in the past 6 months, and a large part of that was due to the Spark being so much easier to set up.

I also have a Shoebox, and I will say that I am glad that I made that investment. Sure, it needs a shop compressor, but it's such an easy compressor/booster to use. You can set the PSI cut off and it will slowly, slowly, fill your tank or rifle. I have a SCBA tank that I take with me now on my jungle walks, and it's pure air independence. I also bring the Spark just in case I get a little trigger happy or if I have an extended shooting session with my Sumatra or my big bores. The set up isn't too bad, but it's not something that I'd like to repeat on the daily; although if that were the case, I'd find some way to have a dedicated fill station set up.

In terms of Customer Service, anecdotal evidence suggests Crosman has outstanding customer service, although I have yet to experience that. They won't ship anything to the regular consumer out here...but they have no problems shipping out to their distributor here. Coincidentally, that distributor is a mere 2 minute drive away from me. Go figure. Hatsan, on the other hand, I have had no problems with. I've ordered numerous spare parts, the Spark and even some optics from them, and there hasn't been a hiccup. The only issue I've had with them was parts being out of stock. For myself, their customer service is commendable.

Bill I seen that Mike@Mrodair has one for sale. He's also got some varmints now too

I doubt he's ordering from SPA again though. I tried loading adding two to the basket but it would only do one on the compressor. The price is $750 on the compressor.

As far as I know, no. It needs to be monitored. As for filling your MRod, I see that it has a 215cc reservoir, so that is pretty close to my Bullboss, which is a 230cc. 2000-3000PSI is roughly 150BAR to 200, which is usually where I do my fills.

The Spark on a 12v source fills the Boss in about a min and half. On the 110v power supply, it fills in about a minute. I'd assume that your times should be roughly the same, given that our fill pressures are identical and reservoirs very similar.

Just for a comparison, the Yong Heng fills the Boss in about 10-15 seconds at those pressures. Not bad, but the tube is always warm-ish when I fill with the YH. Not so much with the Spark.

One thing that I'll mention about the Nomad II, that I'm not sure that the other 12V type compressors have, is the it has a coalescing water separator built in. On the bottom of the compressor is what appears, at first glance is another vent valve. Not quite! This is the drain for a moisture separator, that I think is after the first stage of the compressor. You open this up every so often to drain water. It does a pretty nice job of removing water/moisture. I have a desiccant filter (indicating) on the output of the compressor, and when checking this, I rarely see any color change in the desiccant.
