Crosman Airsource adapter for 1077

Hi Spooner, glad to see you make headway with your project. I have a AS2250 and have been through the same program. I had to get a 88gr adapter to 12gr botts for testing when I did mine. Those 88gr tanks sitting there hissing out were killing me. I found the adapter on ebay a couple of years ago, but I bet they still have them. It was money well spent, a 12gr hissing out didn't hurt nearly as bad. I use it all the time now instead of a 88gr if I remember right it was less than 10 bucks. Good luck my friend. Geno

yes, it was very saddening Geno... lost 9 of the 90g tanks to this  . I searched around for an option to use the 12g tanks but Crosman made this adapter impossible to adapt down.  the older version which I have uses a reversed thread adapter which puts any changing it to downsize tanks out. if mine were the newer version, it bolts on. both versions have relief holes drilled through the adapter down near the seal and with the piercing stem in the original adapter (which I had no idea how to remove)... I just didn't see an option? its a shame really, but no one has to go through this ever again now. I doubt there are very many of us left who still have these adapters for the 1077, but there are at least three of us right here in this forum, so maybe there are more out there? for what it cost me to save this thing, and it was more then I want to think about... I would hate to see someone else go through it the way I did.

I searched The O-ring Store for that face seal in the newer version but saw nothing even close to it? that one might be a real hard one to match? although, if you could find the right material, it could probably be made by hand or 3-D printed? its just a flat seal that raises inward from the edge to the center and flattens out for the bottle to compress against.

im gonna post a link to this thread I started with. its from another forum and 13 years old. I hope its ok with the moderators to do this as it has a really good picture of the face seal in the newer version. I couldn't post a pic of the face seal because I have the old version. that one has a different piercing method as well... I don't even see a piercing stem in it?

So, I know this is old but wanted to ad an update for those of you who may have the version 2 Airsouce adapter. remember that the version 1 has an o-ring seated in a channel in the area where the bottle screws in, and the version 2 has the face seal at the bottom and the bottle seats directly on the top of it. i was never able to find a suitable replacement for this one as i have the version 1. i got my 1077 parts from Crosman yesterday and in those parts i ordered the end seal for the plug assembly, the 38-128 end seal. i am pretty certain that this is the same seal that is used for the face seal in the version 2 adapter, but i cant be certain? it looks like the one in the picture, and it fits perfectly into my version 1, diameter wise. it has the center hole for the piercing stem as well. anyway... it would be worth a try for as cheap as it is ($1.15) in the event that yours goes bad and you cant find one.

I use both in my adapter.
Made the face seal from polyurethane.

Thanks for the pic Ron  .  I am tempted to try it with one of these seals. I lost so many of these big tanks experimenting before I found the right types and sizes to save this thing. So far, it is holding up and I am keeping it maintained when not used. Is using both seals working well in yours?

It's been working great.
All the seals were bad originally when I got the adapter used.
They were the consistency of wax.

Same with some of my seals except for the one that was missing which probably passed into the old valve assembly?
This seal you made, is it a flat seal? A second seal in this area is a great idea! How thick is it and where did you get the poly material? This plug seal would need the center hole widened a little but it may also need thinned down a little in order for the piercing pin to fully engage the bottle seal... not sure? It's doable with a little work but I like your idea better.
