Disco bolt starting to pop open

Has anyone had this problem. I have about 500 rounds through my .22 disco and now the bolt pops open when I fire it. I am running between 1200 and 2000 psi.

You can do the rubber band mod, over the bolt and around the trigger guard ( works well). Some have made mods to the bolt

I unscrewed the bolt about half way and bent it ( the bolt) down. Works and looks fine.

It has not happened with my Disco yet but if and when it does, I think that I will try a piece of heat shrink on it. Just a thought

Had that happen to me on a couple of my Disco's. I just used a heavier bolt handle knob. Lots of peeps making them for sale.

How I do it is chuck up bolt in lathe and carefully turn it down till it is round. Then I take a piece of brass or steel and drill and bore hole to fit snug over end of bolt.

Works for me...

Is the Disco bolt and bolt handle all one piece? My bolt hasn't started the "pop-up syndrome" as yet but I expect it to do so somewhere down the line. A heavier knob or handle sounds like a good idea. Does the handle part screw into the bolt so you could just replace the whole handle with a heavier one or is it necessary to get the whole thing?

The Disco bolt threads in.... Have you guys that have had this problem tried fitting a new O-ring, maybe it's just worn out?....

I am surprised that Crosman has not done anything to correct this with new Disco's.  The cocking bolt popping has been happening for a long time.  Does anyone report problems to Crosman, or does everyone try to correct them without notifying them?  I wonder what Crosman would say the solution is, if you contacted them, or if somone happened to send the gun to them..  Just curious what workaround they would utilize to resolve this issue. 
Adding more weight to the gun IMO is not always the best solution, but I guess the gun is light to begin with, that a couple of ounces wouldn't make a big difference.

It can be caused by two things...

#1. The striker (hammer) pin is striking the back of the bolt when fired.
#2. The o-ring doesn't fit the leade of the barrel.

#1 fix: disassemble the top of the gun and grind the rear of the bolt to allow clearance. Not too much or you won't be able to cock the gun.

#2 fix: use a harder o-ring on the bolt or remove the barrel and trim 1-2 thou off the breech end. (That is what I do when building up a Discovery. the transfer port will still fit and work fine.)

Mine started poping open it was the cocking pin  hitting the bolt.
I filed the end till the mark was gone can shoot now the bolt stays put now.
First time i have took a disco apart boy they are easy to work on.

The reason I passed over the Disco, was the bolt problem,so if anyone finds a fix that's right,(And not a rubber band fix,lol,although it seems to do the trick)but I'm one of those fuss budgets, so it's got too look nice he he,(and no offense about the RB fix),lol.Please let us know as I'd love to have one myself.

I tried this:
Ofter chambering the pellet, Itugged BACKWARDS on the bolt.  When fired, it twitched rather than half way opened.

Not that told me that the bolt was taking a running start...was some slack to the rear when yopu chamber ()pressing the bolt fully forward as you chamber and close the bolt).

So  loosened the set screw, made sure the barrel was all the way back (and then retightened the set screw), replaced the bolt o-ring,  and it more-or-less self cured. Bolt handle will twitch slightly, but you have to be looking for it to notice that little twitch.
